Product information

Bridging the gap between high-end compacts and digital SLRs, Panasonic's DMC-FZ200 offers a level of control close to that of an SLR, but without the hassle of lens changing and complicated settings. Integrated optical image stabilisation and a sharp electronic viewfinder even take the guesswork out of composing show stopping shots.

  • The DMC-FZ200 is equipped with the world’s first 25-600mm LEICA DC lens featuring a full range f2.8 aperture. Capable of capturing 12.1 megapixels of detail, this precision-engineered lens gives you sharper images and less distortion in conditions ranging from wide-angle shots to macro close-ups.
  • The powerful 24x optical zoom can be used in photo and video recording. This is extendable to a stunning 48x using Pansonic’s ‘Intelligent Zoom’ technology. The lens also features nano surface coating to cut down on ghosts and flaring.
  • The High Sensitivity MOS sensor boasts excellent S/N ratio resulting in super clear image with less noise even during high sensitivity recording. Intelligent noise reduction and multi-process noise reduction combine to reduce noise and render dramatically clear images, even in low light.
  • The DMC-FZ200 has a 0.2-inch electronic viewfinder that features a 1,312,000-dot equivalent high resolution, 100% field of view. Thanks to the increased 30 - 60fps frame rate, screen freeze is reduced, making it suitable for shooting fast-moving subjects.
  • A vibrant 3-inch colour screen lets you review your pictures and compose perfect shots.
  • Power Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) creates sharper images whether you’re shooting or filming. Move into position or shoot off-the-cuff with confidence - the FZ200 always delivers rock solid results.
  • You can also record high quality 1920 x 1080 full HD movies in AVCHD for playback on your HD TV via the mini HDMI connection.

Lumix FZ200 must hav bridge camera Does all a large bulky camera can do without the need for extra lenses. Easy to carry and superb definition. More than complex enough for the serious photographer and easy auto set for the amateur. 24X adequate for most and can do digitally enhanced to 48x without definition loss for A4 printing. Tele zoom whilst shooting movies a boon as can do at max 2.8 aperture which few cameras appear able to do. 14 May 2014
FZ 200 Camera Just love it. Fits my hand just as I like. Still getting to grip with all of the modes. have one gripe however in-sofar as opening the flip screen which could be easier.;maybe I have yet to find the best technique. 29 April 2014
Bridge camera Having purchased this camera for my husband for Christmas, and seeing what excellent photos it produced I decided to treat myself as well. Absolutely brilliant reproduction and so easy to move around all the features 12 March 2014
Excellent Camera I purchased the FZ200 after Christmas. I migrated from using a Lumix compact camera TZ8. I wanted to explore the manual settings using a more powerful camera with further scope. The FZ200 camera is absolutely amazing, the aperture pf f2.8 allows one to capture scenes in motion and scenes in low light, the optical zoom lens gives crisp and well detailed images. In conclusion an excellent bridge camera, probably better than many entry DSLR cameras 07 March 2014
Really happy with this camera Had an SLR back in the pre-digital days then changed to compacts. Wanted a new camera with a viewfinder and a decent zoom and after spending a long time trawling through reviews, specs, etc. this bridge camera seemed to come out on top most of the time. Ordered it blind as our nearest John Lewis is 100 miles away but wasn't disappointed. Have small hands but find it easy to hold and am more than happy with the viewfinder and the great zoom. For the rest I still have a lot to learn as only had the camera 4 weeks, but so far find it easy to use and manoeuvre around the settings and menus. Am looking forward to getting past the basics and learning a lot more of what this camera can do. My only gripe would be the lack of a printed user guide but have found a series of videos on the internet which have helped a lot. All in all - Very Happy! 01 February 2014
Fantastic bridge camera A surprise Christmas gift. An update of an older lumix bridge. Very easy to use, beautiful clear lense. Interesting concepts on camera including 3d more depth photos . Video very good, steady with steady zoom. Good size for very small ladies hands!! No need for an SLR. 03 January 2014
Just what I was looking for I've had my Lumix DMC FZ200 for about a month now and am very pleased with it. I bought it mainly because it had a viewfinder which my other camera didn't have. Although I still mainly use the viewfinder, I have found the flip screen very useful too (taking pictures with the camera close to the ground etc). The general ease of use is also welcome - with cameras having so many features it is often hard to find what you need quickly - I have found this camera very easy to use - love it! 27 November 2013
Incredible camera I really agonised over what type of camera to buy, I have got a Canon DSLR but with no video capability and only the standard lens, tend to use it very rarely as use a small compact most of the time, but video very weak, zoom very poor so wanted new camera. Came down to the Lumix or a Sony compact which had a bigger sensor but limited zoom. I can only say I really made the right choice, this camera is fantastic, it has all the manual control you get with a full DSLR and all really easy to use and access, the burst mode is brilliant, there is a picture mode the camera calls 'happy' but is essentially polarised so you get much more vibrant colours, really nice. Focus acquisition is incredibly fast, I am most impressed by just how easy everything is to set, no scrolling through layers of menus because you can't remember where it is hidden, its all obvious. The magazine I bought to help be decide had a negative on the camera in that the flip screen is tricky to get out, I don't really agree with this, yes it isn't necessarily the easiest thing to get a grip on but you tend to have it one way or another most of the time and I think this is really looking for. I had worried that the bridge format was too chunky and would suffer from lack of use like my previous canon, but it is a much better size and I can't currently imagine ever using anything else.
