I don't feel this product is fit for purpose. Frequently clogs up and very fiddly to use. Only had 18 months and can not cope with it any longer as it it so it's user- unfriendly. There was a demonstrator in store when I purchased it and probably wouldn't have considered it otherwise.

I bought this hoover a year and a half ago. I had been assured it would be suitable for a home with pets in it. I have had nothing but trouble since bringing it home. I found it clogged very easily and would not pick up anything from my carpets. The suction does not seem powerful enough. I had taken it back to john lewis as was convinced there must be a problem with it after having to take it apart fully to pick dust out of it after every use. However, I was told I was not cleaning it out often enough and that the hoover was in perfect working order. I tried to get it changed as in my opinion it is not fit for the purpose it was bought for. I do not know anyone else who has to clean their hoover out fully (taking it apart with a screwdriver!) after every use. Very disappointing! Writing this after once again not being able to get it working....

I bought the earlier MC UL710 model from the now defunct Comet in August 2012 and was given what Panasonic said was a 6 year parts & labour guarantee. It proved to be worthless.
Despite little use the beater bar broke up in about a year & when I tried to claim another against the guarantee I was old it was a consumable & not covered. No mention of exceptions in the t&C's of the guarantee document though.
I bought another beater which has again fallen apart. The suction is poor & the machine overheats & cuts out after only 10-15 minutes use. Rubbish machine & rubbish guarantee! Judging from recent reviews Panasonic haven't improved with their newer model.
Can't recommend Panasonic in any way & can only say don't even consider buying from them..

Returned our Panasonic for exchange this evening for the second time and finally gave in and bought another product. First time the suction at the base stopped and we could only vacuum through the handle, manufacturers took it away for repair and 2 months later said they couldn't repair it and would replace the unit. Had the new unit and it worked fine for about a week and then the suction stopped completely and the beater bar broke. Won't buy another vacuum from Panasonic, stick to TV's! Thank you John Lewis for the prompt vacuum swap!

Rated 1 out of 5 by A12Cde Beater bar broke after 4 months - not covered on warranty
This hoover is just over 4 months old, during NORMAL USE, the beater bar containing the brush at the front of the machine broke. I telephoned Panasonic customer care team, told this was an ACCESSORY and would have to purchase...ridiculous, an accessory is an additional option in my option (shared by Trading standards) yet this is an integral part of the machine i.e. it won't work without it! I phoned John Lewis who cannot make Panasonic honour their 2 year guarantee parts and labour and suggest I take the machine back to store (20 miles from where I live) and they can send it away to be repaired...DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE.

Rated 1 out of 5 by frank7 not what i expected
First impression was good, lighter and easier to handle than old panasonic.Pick up with beater switched on also good.
The problems come when you empty the dust from the machine which is very unpleasant as i suffer from dust allergies,it needs to be done every other time it is used.the filter also needs washing every 4 uses otherwise suction is none existant, nothing like i was shown on the panasonic web video before i purchased. And now the motor has gone with a load bang and flash followed by strong burning smell.my next machine will definatley have disposable bags.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Wynny Really useless product
Panasonic vacuum cleaner MC-UL712 Bagless
Not as light as claimed, manoeuvrability OK, suction almost non existent, difficult to empty, not very stable, poor cable storage, In short one of the most useless vacuum cleaners that I have ever owned.
My 79 year old husband, a Parkinson's sufferer, regularly has to fine tooth comb the carpets on his hands and knees after I have finished hoovering.
A huge let down from Panasonic

Had this cleaner for 20 months and within that time the beater bar broke and finally the motor has burnt out. The cost of repair is more than the price of another make of cleaner hence I shall be buying another make.
