Panasonic NN-SF460M Microwave Oven, Silver 3.5 5 14 14
Watch out for turnables Recently we bought a Panasonic microwave with a turntable (not from J Lewis). It lasted two days before the turntable failed. We use our microwave a lot for casserole cooking. It looks like the turning mechanism they now install is just not up to the job even with a moderately sized casserole pot. Checking the Internet many more people have had similar problems. So decided to go for the Flat Bed option. We are very pleased with the result, we can put in a heavy pot without worrying about the turntable failing. 28 May 2013
Patchy - and packed up! Uneven and slow heating, compared with a conventional turntable microwave. The flat bed is its big selling point, and the availability of a mounting kit. But now it's suddenly packed up after only 18 months of not very intensive use - not impressed. 13 May 2013
Dissappointing, uneven heating Having had a non-turntable microwave before we had no concerns with what might be considered an unconventional product; When we tried this one it heated food in striped bands, so in an 7" bowl of porridge heated for two minutes on full power - part would be boiling - part would be warm - and part with the temperature barely altered. We tried different locations for three more bowls but the result was repeated. OK one might argue you are meant to stir things, but just how do you stir that solid item a like jacket potatoe? Unfortunately the day after purchase we decided it had to go back. John Lewis support on this aspect was excellent. 02 February 2013
Excellent product This microwave is so easy to use and chose it particularly because of flatbed as more versatile than turntable models. It arrived for collection on time, processed by polite and helpful staff and altogether a pleasant experience, but no less than we have come to expect from your service. 29 December 2012
Microwave Excellent well worth the money Was a great replacement for my previous Panasonic microwave 09 November 2012
Not happy with the performance Compared with the 25-year old Toshiba that this replaced, this oven seems less powerful, which is odd given that the Toshiba was rated only at 600 Watts and this one is suppossedly 900! It certainly does not heat the food 50% faster. Example - vegetables for four previously took no more than 6 minutes, even frozen peas. This machine seems to need seven or eight for the same effect. Perhaps the inverter technology is not as efficient as claimed. The (noisy) cooling fan seems to suggest a lot of heat lost in the electronics. The Toshiba did not have or need one. 16 August 2012
dissapointing panasonic this microwave oven looked like it had all the features we wanted, which it did. Unfortunately, after having it in place for a while we began to wonder if it was performing correctly. Frozen items that we have cooked in the previous panasonic microwave were not cooking in this one. They were still frozen in the middle and this happens each time. Heated up drinks were not hot, just luke warm. This oven is going back 16 May 2012
More Space More Power What More Do You Want! I have always bought Panasonic Microwaves in the past and when it came to renew our old one I looked again at the range. I was drawn towards the inverter ovens and especially the flatbed. This means that having no turntable you can now put in large rectangular dishes and with the way the inverter works power is distributed more easily. It is easy to use and gives great results with some great and innovative features. Well done Panasonic! 27 January 2012
