Don't leave unattended! Fire risk. Bought 4 months ago as a replacement for a Sharp model which was manufactured in 1986 and was still working pefectly apart from an intermittent fault with the Start button, including cooking single jacket potatos in sensor mode. This Panasonic has been used since purchase primarily for cooking such potatos. Usually they overcook, on 6 occasions they have gone up in flames. The Instruction book (unfortunately not seen before purchase) says not to use the sensor mode for jacket potatos weighing less than 200g - most jacket potatos sold by supermarkerts as such weigh less than this. So as a single person I can use the Panasonic only in the manual mode meaning paying for a sensor rather than a simple microwave was a waste of money. I guess Panasonic may be the best of the currrent manufacturers but its disappointing that current technology is not as good as it was 27 years ago! 19 March 2013

panasonic product- as good as ever Replaced an existing panasonic microwave that was bought many moons ago. This one has all the bells and whistles and is easy to use. Would recommend without hesitation. 15 January 2013

Product I cannot do without John Lewis to be congratuilated for delivering my new microwave oven the day after I ordered it just before Christmas - I couldn't believe my old one had conked out just before the festivities when I was expecting a house full of guests. Panaasonic NN-ST 452W Microwave oven-white I have been looking for a microwave for some time that has the facility to reheat using a 10min/1min or 10sec facility just by the touch of a button. That would also accomodate a large 3 ltr casserole pot, and has a smart appearance. I've found it. The chaotic defrost is amazing for when you are in a hurry, I used it to defrost a pkt of 4 chops and within 3mins they were ready to start cooking. My only critisism which is very small, is that the microwave fan which is quite loud runs for a minute after it has finished heating food, this is actually the 'standing time' which is recommended by the manufacturer following the heating process I am extremely pleased with this purchase.. 30 December 2012

Clear instructions, clean looking microwave Tidy looking microwave, clean lines. Previous Panasonic went rusty on the inside window, the revolving turntable wheels dug grooves into the inner coating leaving a rusty ring and the internal coating of the machine started to lift. No idea why, and it wasn't an old machine. Always kept it clean and wiped out. Hope this one fairs better. I consider Panasonic to be a good name so I have taken a chance and bought another. 25 December 2012

LOOKS SMART, WORKS WELL Clean lines, looks good in the kitchen. Bought to replace our previous stainless steel Panasonic that was about 10 years old. We now prefer the white as it matches the other appliances and shows less marks. We use the microwave several times every day, but only for simple operations, so have not experimented with timers or special settings, so can't comment on how easy they are to understand. Have used the porridge setting though, and that works well. We can only compare the noise level with other microwaves we have used, and it is no noisier than any of them. Only the sound of the motor, no rattles or clunks. Only time will tell as to how reliable it is. 11 November 2012
