The family size Panasonic NN-ST479S microwave, in stainless steel, oven features 15 programmes, 8 with an automatic sensor so there's no need to enter the weight.

The NN-ST479S also has built-in inverter technology that provides more even and constant cooking. This technology also reduces the weight of ovens, making for easier cleaning.

With auto weight reheat, auto weight cook, turbo reheat, chaos defrost, all of which take the guesswork out of timing. Includes jog control and distinctive double pop-out control panel.

Very user friendly microwave! I think this microwave looks really good. It is easy to operate and is efficient. Some reviews that I have read say that it is noisy - but it is not as noisy as a kettle and the 'noisy' element is the cooling fan that continues to work for a short time after the microwave has finished the programmed operation. So initially it is not a noise I was used to but I don't notice it at all now. Very good value for money and as my last Panasonic microwave lasted 12 years with daily use for cooking and reheating I am hopeful this model will be the same!! 11 January 2013

Lasts 2-3yrs on average Nice size and features. Unfortunately they seem to be designed to last only 2-3 yrs before failing (I have 3 from the last 6-7 yrs: failures were inverter, door interlock, and now door button). Wonder if there is a better quality manufacturer - normally Panasonic are pretty good but maybe a Korean manufacturer would be better next time! 25 November 2012

Best buy in recent Which review Excellent microwave with very useful auto buttons such as chaos defrost for defrosting such things as meat joints. After putting in the coorect weight they come out fully defrosted and without any area having started to cook. I can see why it came out as a Best Buy in Which's recent test. I am very pleased with all areas of the microwave but agree with their recommendation that you need a cloth next to it to frequently wipe its surface that gets easily smeared. 15 November 2012

Panasonic Microwave Having researched WHICH magazine BEST BUY and checked the internet for prices and delivery I decided to purchase from John Lewis which was one of the cheapest. I have purchased from John Lewis before and have had excellent service so past experience also played a significant part. the microwave was delivered before the due date and is working well 14 November 2012
