Panasonic NN-ST479S Sensor Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel
Not as good as previous model.
If you buy this, take note!
When unpacking there is a cardboard cover inside the unit on the right hand side.
This cover is not meant to be removed, but is easily damaged.
Their website says that this is a "Cover A" and not to be used without it. Their website says they are happy to *sell* you another one on 0844 844 3899.
This is extremely poor. What if you get it wet during cleaning?? What a poor material to have inside a microwave.
You must press the temperature (high/med/low/etc) prior to pressing the time. In our previous panasonic you could just press the time...
The feet on the microwave don't hold it in place. it slides around the counter...

Great Microwave, while it works
I've had this microwave for just over two years. It get's fairly light use - just defrosting the odd bit of meat or heating a ready meal. I've always liked it but today it stopped working with error code H97 displayed. It seems this fault is not economic to repair so that's it, it's going to the tip!
Before you buy this microwave Google 'Panasonic H97' and see for yourself how common a fault this is for this microwave. Many units don't seem to make it to 3 years.

Arrived really quickly. Looks good, easy to use and not too noisy. The fan does stay on after the cooking has finished which took a little getting used to (sounds likeit is still cooking). Would recomend

I recently bought this microwave to replace my - still working 30 year-old Panasonic - microwave, thinking I ought to upgrade. The new microwave has not even lasted two weeks before failing to work, tripping an electric circuit and failing to show any life whatsoever. What a disappointment, Panasonic!

Excellent...but one minor point!.
We bought this to replace a similar Panasonic microwave which we loved. ( Unfortunately the door mecanism of that one failed after a number of years).
We particularly like the large oven size. The only thing that we don't like is that this new model is fitted with slippery feet. So when we press the door button the whole microwave moves. We had to overcome this problem by attaching stick-on rubber feet under the present feet.

We decided on this microwave as it is a Which? 'best buy' despite having read various reviews highlighting some downsides. The downsides others have mentioned are true, though we will keep the microwave and just have to get used to these points.
Sometimes after cooking and sometimes not (doesn't follow a logical pattern) the microwave continues to sound like it's cooking even though it has stopped. I assume this must be the fan that other reviewers mention, but it is disconcerting opening the door when it sounds like it's still cooking (you only know it's finished because the machine will beep and the screen tells you it's ok to open the door). The noise of the fan is the same as when cooking, so if you pop out of the room and miss the bell (which is quiet quiet) then you can easily be mistaken for thinking it hasn't finished cooking. Sometimes the fan/noise doesn't continue yet the inside will be quite steamy - so it makes no sense why sometimes the fan continues and other times not. This is the biggest point that will take some getting used to.
Others have mentioned the digital display as being difficult to read and I agree it is. The display is most clear to read when you look at it straight on - so would be best positioned at eye level if possible. Ours sits on the kitchen bench which means looking down at the display - if we don't bend down to look straight on, then you can see the shadow of all the characters on the display even those not in use.
It is a pain having to always press what level of power (high, medium, low, etc) you want before entering the time. It would be more intuitive to set the default as 'high' and only adjust power when you want something different.
Plus sides include the different auto/sensor cook functions. Cooking jacket potatoes is so easy if you want a quick lunch. The microwave also looks quite stylish, I just find it odd that a microwave can be built these days with the flaws this one has.

Very user friendly microwave!
I think this microwave looks really good. It is easy to operate and is efficient. Some reviews that I have read say that it is noisy - but it is not as noisy as a kettle and the 'noisy' element is the cooling fan that continues to work for a short time after the microwave has finished the programmed operation. So initially it is not a noise I was used to but I don't notice it at all now.
Very good value for money and as my last Panasonic microwave lasted 12 years with daily use for cooking and reheating I am hopeful this model will be the same!!
