Panasonic SCHTB527EBS 2.1 Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer

Product information

This powerful Panasonic sound bar brings all of the features you’d expect including immersive 2.1 sound. It also includes a dedicated wireless subwoofer that injects powerful bass into the on-screen action. And because it’s wireless, you’ll enjoy the freedom to move it just about anywhere in the room. The HTB527EB features a combined 240 watts of output that will unlock every detail of your audio.

Key benefits:

  • The 16cm downward-firing subwoofer adds new depth to soundtracks. Along with the flexibility of wireless connectivity you can easily move it into the listening sweet spot, or out of sight, with ease.
  • Clear mode dialogue centres and clarifies speech output so that dialogue sounds more natural while syncing perfectly with what’s happening on-screen.
  • A combined 240W of output spread across twin treble and mid-range drive units creates an even soundscape that can still fill a room.
  • With HDMI ARC you just need a single cable connecting your sound bar and TV to enjoy the sound from your TV’s receiver. There’s also and optical input for non-HDMI sources.
  • When this sound bar is combined with a VIERA link compatible Panasonic TV you’ll only need one remote to control both.

Panasonic SCHTB527EBS 2.1 Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer 5 5 3 3
Fantastic Sound Experience We were really happy with our 50inch Panasonic Hd TV and wanted to enjoy the full experience by buying the Sound Bar. Sports events are like being at the match now and movies are now as good as going to the cinema. The sound envelops the whole room. 31 March 2014
Elegant and Effective Purchased this soundbar to complement our 2 year old basic Panasonic 42 inch TV. While we originally considered a more basic sound bar, we chose the SCHTB527 because it has some more sophisticated features. The 1st of these is a wireless subwoofer, which can means this component can be located anywhere near a power point without any speaker cables. The 2nd feature is the ARC connection. Provided your TV has one of its HDMI connections labelled as ARC, this means that your TV can control the sound bar volume without having to use the sound bars own remote device. You will still need to use the sound bar remote for making adjustment to the sound settings, but you will normally find that you won't change these that frequently. Connection is a piece of cake, the styling is an elegant silver, which we've found is less obtrusive than black, particularly if you want to position the sub woofer more discretely. While there are slimmer soundbars available, we really like this one, although we have had to raise our TV as the soundbar does block the remote sensor. In use, the settings are simple to control using the remote. The only options available are 3 sound profiles which change the way the system sounds, and the sub woofer level, which controls the amount of bass. And the sound? Fantastic. Sound bars don't just improve the sound on block buster movies. Dialogue sounds clearer too, and if you play music through your TV then soundbar will make that sound fantastic too. The only thing this soundbar lacks is Bluetooth, but we play music from our tablets or smartphones via Apple TV or using the TV's smart wifi connection. All in all another fantastic Panasonic product 01 October 2013
Neat Home Cinema Solution This unit is a perfect complement to a Panasonic TV with Viera Link (HDAVI Control 5) as it is then possible to use the main TV remote to select the TV or Sound Bar for sound output and change sound volume. My Panasonic predates this and has Q-Link, which is incompatible with the HTB527 so it is necessary for me to use the small remote that comes with the kit to alter sound settings, and I have to silence the TV with it's own remote. A bit more cumbersome but not too much of a burden. The soundbar is deemed suitable for TV's in the 47-55 inch range. As it happens I am using it on the built in stand that comes with my 42 inch TH 42PX60B Panasonic and it is an exact fit as the TV is a vintage one with wider bezel (and much better sound) than modern day sleek designs. Connection is simple enough with HDMI from the unit to the TV (or optical). My Panasonic DVD recorder which previously also connected to the TV by HDMI now connects into the soundbar through the HDMI socket provided in a daisy chain arrangement. Even with the soundbar turned off the HDMI signal from the DVD recorder to the TV is kept live so it is possible to play DVDs and recordings as previously using just one HDMI connection into the TV. The sound is fuller and potentially much louder than the TV's built in 10 watts per channel and the "sub-woofer" adds much more ambience to big events such as football matches, The sub-woofer is linked wirelessly to the main soundbar so can be placed remotely needing only a mains supply to operate. The mini remote allows four sub-woofer settings plus it can just be turned off locally if you want a little less thump. All the units are silver coloured, so match my existing TV and stand. I am using my system in a modern styled environment where they blend in but it's worth considering the impact of silver in an otherwise more reserved decorated area. I consider it provides enhanced sound without going overboard so it is possible to listen for extended periods. 24 July 2013
