Product information

Wake up in the morning to the smell of freshly baked bread, with the Panasonic SD-ZB2502BXC bread maker.

Finished in an appealing stainless steel and with cool-touch housing, this new Panasonic model features a useful 13 hour time delay, so you can set it to bake overnight in time for your toast the next morning!

Unique to Panasonic, a yeast dispenser has been incorporated into the SD-ZB2502BXC: this useful addition drops the yeast at the optimal moment, for perfect bread every time. There is also a raisin and nut dispenser that automatically adds additional ingredients, meaning you can leave this machine to bake without having to think about returning to add ingredients.

The angled control panel is easy to use, and this appliance easily caters for particular dietary requirements, including gluten free, low salt and high fibre. Dedicated regular and rye paddles ensure that every type of loaf is kneaded to perfection, while a rapid bake option produces a basic loaf in just two hours.

As well as offering 3 sizes (medium, large and extra large) this Panasonic appliance has 9 versatile modes, including:

  • gluten free
  • whole wheat
  • rye
  • French and Italian breads
  • sandwich bread
  • pizza dough
  • and a speciality mode for various grain and flour types such as spelt flour.

The SD-ZB2502BXC bread maker’s unique non-stick bread pan and kneading blade are coated with diamond particles, to ensure you will be able to easily remove bread from this unit once cooked. This coat is also twice as tough and scratchproof as conventional coats.

This bread maker has talents beyond bread, too! A jam and compote mode makes for quick and easy preparation of spreads.

Don't buy if you like crusty bread If you like crusty bread, this is not the machine to buy. With white bread, it's possible to choose the type of crust: dark, medium, or light. The dark setting produces what I call a light crust and my wife remarked that the bread wasn't properly cooked. With wholemeal bread, which I prefer, it's not possible to choose the grade of crust at all, and the 'crust' is as soft as supermarket sliced bread. It's very difficult to cut without the loaf collapsing completely. Another problem is the interminable length of time it takes to make both bread and dough. A white loaf takes 4 hours and a wholemeal 5 hours, and these include only one dough rise, which isn't the way to make the best quality bread. White dough takes 2 hours and 20 minutes and wholemeal takes 3 hours and 15 minutes. My old Kenwood takes just one and a half hours to produce perfectly good dough of either kind. Unfortunately, it no longer produces decent loaves. 03 April 2014
WOW! I HAVE JUST MADE A LOAF I purchased this at the weekend after reading reviews and speaking to staff in the shop. I made my first loaf last night ever! It turned out perfect. The machine is so easy to use I cannot praise it enough. Well worth the extra money to have the yeast load automatically during the program. All you need to do is just load it, program it, and wait. And sure enough in 5 hours we had a wonderful wholemeal loaf. I am not a great cook or a good baker but this is a brilliant piece of equipment. Easy to clean as well. Can't recommend it enough. 25 March 2014
Panasonic Bread Maker This is the best ever Bread maker I have used & owned......Well recommend this item to anyone who is interested in making their own bread. Comes with so many other features other than baking bread.....a must for any kitchen. 04 February 2014
Best bread This is the forth panasonic bread maker I have purchased and they were all used at least once a day. This new one is the best so far in that the yeast dispenser is on the top so the yeast is released at just the right moment and temerature. So far all the loaves I have made have been excellent. I always leave out the sugar from the recipes as I dont see the need and when I have the odd shop bought bread I can really taste the sugar! 04 February 2014
Brilliant Bread Made half a dozen low salt organic wholemeal loaves. Perfectly. Excellent. 04 February 2014

One happy customer Having deliberated for ages about getting a bread machine, I'm so glad I took the plunge and bought this model from John Lewis. The price was competitive, delivery was swift and the results have been delightful. I still love making bread by hand, but when time is short, this wonderful machine means we can enjoy homemade bread with the minimum of effort. It is so simple to use, it's ridiculous! Thank you Panasonic and thank you John Lewis! 21 January 2014
Best Panasonic bread maker yet My third Panasonic bread maker over the years (predecessors given to people). This produces the best results, and is the most consistent with every loaf coming out perfectly. 16 January 2014
