Q & As

Philips 12W SES Softone Energy Saving Candle Bulb, Opal 3.5 5 2 2
Nice and bright but don't last long enough. Bought 6 of these for my sitting room ceiling fittings. They take a minute to warm up but after that they are easily as bright as the incandescent bulbs they replaced. HOWEVER 3 of them have gone after under 1000 hours of use, so do not believe the maker's claim of 8000 hours. With this lifespan it becomes more expensive to use these bulbs than the old incadenscent type, i.e. the replacement cost is more than the electricity bill savings. 02 July 2013
Really useful product. The bulbs have proved to be exactly what we wanted and enhance our new lighting scheme. 08 February 2012
