Product information

Remove even the toughest creases, with the Philips GC4860/02 Azur steam iron.

Hosting a mighty 2600W output, quick heat-up and great performance come as standard with the Azur iron. And peace of mind is guaranteed too, as it automatically turns off when left unattended - no more worrying about whether you turned off the iron when you left the house!

This useful appliance shows off a non-stick ceramic SteamGlide PLUS soleplate that glides effortlessly over all fabrics. The powerful 50g per minute steam output continues to make light work of ironing, and even the most stubborn creases will never survive the 200g/min steam boost.

Elongated steam slots on the tip of this Philips appliance ensure that even tricky to reach areas are ironed to perfection. For added convenience a generous 350ml water tank capacity gives you the freedom to iron for longer periods of time, while an extra-large door opening lets you fill up at the sink with ease.

And now you can easily steam creases away from clothes while they remain on the hanger, thanks to the handy vertical steam facility. The drip-stop system guards your garments from water drops while ironing, and a calc clean solution keeps your iron scale-free.

Q & As

Philips GC4860/02 Azur Steam Iron 4.7 5 75 75
Finally a decent iron I bought this after going through 2 cheaper irons which were dire. This iron is fantastic. 01 April 2014
Azur iron Truly delighted. It is such good value and feels every bit as refined as ones costing twice as much inexplicably. Had a steam generator iron, which was heavy and noisy. The Philips makes ironing a pleasure: heats up immediately; steam lasts ages and it glides lightly and very efficiently over all fabrics. This is so much easier than the monster I had before. Also given first rate advice at John Lewis in Newcastle from a lady who clearly loves her job. 25 March 2014
Efficient A pleasure to handle - glides well and effortlessly . Does the job with efficiency. Uncomplicated. Steam mechanism noisy -surprising as this was not a problem with its excellent predecessor. 20 November 2013
Disappointed! I chose this iron due to the excellent reviews from other people and to replace an old Philips iron that I have been pleased with - I just wanted a more powerful iron to speed through my huge ironing pile - however I am very disappointed - it doesn't seem to steam much, the orange heater light is nearly always on and the water runs out of the plastic opening all over the iron handle. Other reviews say the iron is noisy but mine isn't so think perhaps there is something wrong with mine. Not sure if I can return it as I bought it in May but cannot persevere any longer. 15 August 2013
So far so good Bought this iron yesterday main purpose being the auto shut off mode (husband can leave iron on days on end much to my distress). Initially I thought it was heavy in the shop and I suffer from tennis elbow. However when using it I found it easy to handle and definitely cut ironing time. However I am not ready to give up the spray starch to get a truly crisp finish. Drawback: it is a bit noisy and the plastic opening to fill the iron with water appears to be flimsy and time will tell how long that will last but it comes with a. 2 year guarantee. 01 August 2013
An excellent product I bought this iron to replace a Tefal I'd had for five years and chose this model on the basis of the positive reviews it has received on here. Used it for the first time last night and it removed some very stubborn trouser creases with very little effort. The steam setting is a tad noisy, but I can live with that as in all other respects this iron gets the job done. A good product and one I'm happy to recommend to any prospective purchaser. 18 June 2013
Keep your receipt The reason for choosing this iron was that it had good reviews together with that it came with a 2 year guarantee with JL. I have had this iron for only 9 months and it has already packed up working. I plug it in and got a flashing red light, then it turned itself off. JL gave me a refund, I have now ordered a identical replacement iron, luckily JL is still offering the 2 year guarantee, but I hope I have more life out of the replacement. I,m certainly going to keep the receipt some where safe. 11 April 2013
NOISY! Although this is an excellent iron for getting the creases out it is really noisy. If, like me, you stand your iron on it's end while turning clothes over etc prepare to be surprised at the noise of the steam 'crackling'. To start with I thought there must be a fault but on reading through these reviews it seems quite a few people think it is noisy. I had to turn up the radio to hear it over the noise. I imagine if you were ironing in a room with others trying to watch the tv / listen to the radio, they would get grumpy from the interruption every time the iron is stood on end!!! 21 February 2013
