Philips GC7420 Steam System Generator Iron

Product information

Created for fast ironing, the Philips GC7420 Steam System iron is ready to tackle your pile of clothes within just 2 minutes. Its 4.5 bar pressure gives you up to 120g/min of continuous steam from its 1L tank, so you can soon make light work of even difficult fabrics. The Steam Trigger lock lets you have continuous steam without having to press the trigger all the time.

The GC7420’s SteamGlide nonstick ceramic soleplate has a unique steam tip, so even the smallest or most difficult areas will soon look well pressed. You can use the GC7420 vertically as well.

And water can be added anytime to the easy-fill tank - before, during or after an ironing session - without having to wait for the iron to cool down. Permanent anti-calc tablets inside delay the formation of scale build up ensuring better protection for your iron. With cord storage for the 2m cable.

Q & As

Philips GC7420 Steam System Generator Iron 4.6 5 84 84
REALLY USEFUL PRODUCE This steam generator is ideal in terms of functionality and value for money. I have always found Phillips to be reliable. I iron for myself and my husband, so the power is more than adequate for our needs. No more steam is needed and the kitchen does not get steamed up. The clear tank is useful for monitoring how much water is left and with the use of a jug it is easy to fill. I have no complaints at all. Basic, more than adequate, reliable and value for money. 26 October 2012
A must have! Absolutely brilliant, didn't realise how bad my last one had got till I got this one! 24 October 2012
Philips GC7420 This Iron is great it gets hot fairly quick and halves the time spent ironing. The only two things which could be seen as a negative is that when the water is heating up it is rather loud also it lets out alot of steam so in a closed room you would need the door open or a window to circulate the air. 17 October 2012
Great iron! I had the Bosch TDS1220GB Power Steam Generator Iron bought for me as a gift but after using it once, it leaked over everything. I returned it to store and immediately was offered a replacement. The shop assistant in Southampton (Mo) couldn't have been more helpful and knew everything about the irons he was selling. I've used the iron a couple of times and although it is different to use than traditional irons, this just glides through everything and gives an excellent result. Usual superb John Lewis service. 16 October 2012
Good iron We previously had a Bosch steam generator iron which was very good although only lasted about 18 months so thought we'd try Philips. This iron is good and generates a good amount of steam. it is however loud and needs refilling quite a bit. On the whole, for the money, a good buy. 16 October 2012
Great iron, let's hope it lasts We bought an identical iron 1.5 years ago and it broke. We loved it so much we decided to risk it and buy another but this time through John Lewis so we get the 2 years guarantee instead. It really does make light of ironing. However, if you iron a crease in, it is impossible to iron out unless you have some water to hand. Have had to give it three stars as the last one broke so quickly. 12 October 2012
Great Product! A great steam iron that has made our ironing five times as quick! Glides perfectly and doesn't leave a crease! A must for ironing! 09 October 2012
extremely effective and great customer service This iron has made that dreaded Sunday evening task much more bearable - cuts through creases and leaves shirts looking almost professionally pressed. After about 18 months our first iron broke (it kept leaking out of the pressure seal), but a short phone call to John Lewis customer service and a new one was couriered within 5 days and the old one put straight in the bin, all covered under the 2yr guarantee . Very happy with that. 09 October 2012
