There’s a standard mode for when you want to zoom around your mouth, giving it an all-over clean with a tingling 31,000 oscillations a minute. Then there’s an additional mode which provides 2 minutes of cleaning with a 30 second burst of whitening afterwards for a dazzling smile! Finally sensitive teeth and gums benefit from a gentle yet thorough cleaning cycle.

Thanks to the integral lithium ion rechargeable battery you’ll get up to 20 2 minute cleaning sessions. After brushing, the compact deluxe charging base can be also be used to store a tooth brush head and cord when not in use. Includes one ProResults cleaning head and hygienic travel cap.

Great clean, not so great build quality! Having previously had four Oral-B toothbrushes over many years I bought the Philips Sonicare on my dental hygenist's recommendation. One month on the cleaning is great, although on reflection the cheaper model would have been just as good but I wanted the travel case. Unfortunately the handle and the control panel have parted company and the toothbrush has developed a tendancy to switch itself on. Somewhat alarming when one is asleep, and your toilet bag approaches from the bathroom!! Out of stock and waiting to replace item. John Lewis are great though aren't they? 11 April 2013

Great brush, but are they built to last? Excellent electric toothbrush that leaves your teeth very clean in 2 minutes. Different setting which would be good for sensitive teeth. You can get replacement heads relatively cheap too. Downside - my first one broke after 2 weeks, it came on intermittently whilst sat on the charger and then stopped working all together. John Lewis replaced it in store, no questions asked and I am now waiting to see jow long the new one lasts... 04 December 2012

electric toothbrush My dental hygienist recommended a sonicare toothbrush when I needed to replace my old one. It's absolutely brilliant, my teeth feel really clean after using it. There are settings for sensitive teeth and teeth whitening. It also comes with a handy little case, perfect for travelling. 28 July 2012

Dentist Clean This is the second Sonicare toothbrush I've bought and I really feel that it cleans my teeth. Although the motion is relatively gentle, it does clean the teeth. I especially like the timer which ensures I brush for an appropriate length of time. I've tried the cheap battery operated toothbrushes, but these are really no good in my opinion, they're very harsh. I would definitely recommend this toothbrush. 23 July 2012

Excellent result This is my second Sonicare product I purchased. The first one I bought was a higher model with extra functions which I didn't use much. The brushing and cleaning function of this one is as good as the first one. I strong recommend this product. 10 June 2012

Happy teeth I ordered this just after Christmas when my old electric toothbrush died a death. It seems to be, for the price, very good value for money. Comes with it's own carry case for travelling so there's no chance of it accidentally switching itself on. It has 3 settings too and a useful light to tell you when the battery is low. Does the job of cleaning teeth as you would expect, however it doesn't seem to do it any better than my old standard electric toothbrush did. I'm sure if you chose a higher priced version you might get super-duper cleaning but this, for the money, is fine. 26 January 2012
