Playmobil Knights: Falcon Knight's Castle

Product information

The Falcon Knight's castle is a mighty fortress and is highly protected thanks to its crenellated walls, rocky outcrop and lofty keep. Ready to do battle, the castle is equipped with a drawbridge that can be lifted up, or let down to welcome soldiers into the outer bailey. Inside there’s a lockable gaol for any captured soldiers, a sneaky trapdoor to lure the enemy across, ladders to scramble up or down and a firing cannon to deter any enemy. But woe betide if the enemy break through, part of the castle wall can be collapsed.

The set comes complete with 4 Playmobil knights, horse, cannon and weaponary. Are you ready for the fight?

Brand Story

Playmobil was invented by Hans Beck, who spent three years developing it between 1971 and 1974. He strived to find a toy that was flexible enough for children to be creative with, but also allowed them to follow a clear set of instructions on how to make something. His finished product measured 7.5cm tall so that it would fit perfectly in a child’s hand. The facial design was based on a child’s drawing of a big smiley face with no nose.
It was in 1974 that the company displayed its first sets of knights, Indians and construction workers on show. Despite the fact that initial visitors were reluctant to accept the toy, they were shown at the International Toy Fair in Nuremberg, where a Dutch firm agreed to buy a whole year's production. The launch of the product was very successful, accounting for one-sixth of the company’s total sales, which lead to Playmobil being sold worldwide in 1975.

Q & As

Playmobil Knights: Falcon Knight's Castle 4.3 5 12 12
Brilliant castle I purchased this for my grandson aged 4 and he thinks it is absolutely brilliant and I love playing with it as well so much so that I purchased another for my other grandson. The only limit is ones imagination. 26 March 2014
Easily Come Apart We bought the smaller of the two castles after concerns about size. Both daughter (aged 5) and son (aged 6) have played well with the castle and the accompanying accessories. Overall quality of the structure is good. However, it can easily come apart and is difficult to put back together which is frustrating for both children and grown-ups. 14 January 2014
Great Present We bought this for our 4 year old sons birthday. It took some putting together but our son loves it so worth it. Does come apart sometimes but soon fits back together again. 07 October 2012
Need lots of floor space This is the smaller castle set, but it is very big. Only have a small kids bedroom & once built this takes up most of the floor space. It has only been built about 3 times this year. My kids are aged 5 & 8. Both like visiting castles, but have been less inclined to play with this rather than other play mobil sets such as the zoo & wildlife ranger sets. This castle set has huge numbers of accessories such as knights, horses, weapons catapults & the like, but the colours of the bits are very drab. When you see the bits spead out, they don't tempt play like more colourful ones. Spent a lot of money on this set & various people bought them other sets to go with it, but I feel it has not really shown play value. I know it was designed to buy both castles as each set has the opposition. Need a huge amount of space to lay out both. 01 October 2012
As always a great product by Playmobil! My 5 year old loves playing with this castle, great quality and price. 29 January 2012
big disappointment! Had to return this item as it was of very poor quality - very thin plastic and kept falling apart (even when an adult tried to move it about). So many tiny parts - it should be described as for at least 7/8 year old, not 4 and up. 27 January 2012
Great Present We purchased the castle for our 4year old son for Christmas, he and his older brothers have played with it endlessly. It is well made and very robust and not too big! Great value for money 27 January 2012
Definitely a favourite! We bought this for our knight-mad 5 year old son for Christmas, and he loves it! It's very well made, and makes for endless hours of imaginative play (even our kitten joins in, pretending to be a fierce dragon attacking over the walls). I'd recommend this to anyone. 27 January 2012
