Q & As

Pure One Flow Portable DAB and Internet Digital Radio 3 5 5 5
Could be better I bought this as I wanted an internet radio to overcome the vicissitudes of an older Roberts DAB/FM radio. The initial set-up was easy with a quick connection to my BT router. Getting BBC Radios 3 & 4 into favourites eventually managed. The quality of sound is quite reasonable and FM sensitivity is good. DAB reception is non-existent compared with poor on the old Roberts. Connection to my iPad proved to be problematical but Pure's technical support provided helpful guidance on the "Jongo Device". However, ever since, connection tot iPad has proved to be very hit and miss - not consistently easy to achieve. The biggest problem I have with this radio is RF interference. When listening to the internet,(radio/iPad) it stops working when I switch the central heating or the micro-wave on. (The radio shares the same location in the kitchen.). I wonder if the RF filter on the dc power cord should be closer to the radio? I shall be returning this to J Lewis as soon as I can physically get back to the shop. Probably to pay more for what I hope will be a better internet radio - and by definition, more expensive. 31 January 2014
what's not to like? When it was launched this radio received consistently good evaluations from the trade reviewers, whose verdict was that it represents excellent value for money. This is my experience - easy to set up (the instructions are all there in the booklet); great sound and amazing range of stations available through the internet facility. The romance of early radio is combined with efficient new technology - what's not to like? 13 January 2014
Good radio, terrible battery Already have a Pure internet radio for 4 years. It continues to work very well apart from the 'optional' battery which is difficult to connect if you have two operating hands and near impossible if, like me, you only have one. Bought the One Flow recently and, whilst the radio and Internet functions are as good as ever the battery is now even more difficult to connect. Wouldn't be so bad if the battery is never disconnected but occasionally it has to removed and reconnected when the radio freezes. 24 October 2013
Not so good The power on / off button has ceased to function after 6 months. Awaiting J L's replacement process. Internet access is via the Pure Connect system which is difficult to find due to the menu system on the radio. The reception is not brilliant. I can see the relay transmitter from the room but the signal is weak, might be the transmitter, if so, I prologise to Pure 08 August 2013
Nice but... An extravagant purchase as I haven't managed to set it up properly for continental radio stations yet. I find the lack of tone control really annoying so the sound booms and lacks sharpness. Also, tend to listen most to Radios 3 and 4 but if I listen to one of these, the next time I switch it on, the pre-set for the other has disappeared and requires some fiddling with the knobs. 29 May 2013
