Q & As

ROBERTS DreamTime 2 DAB/FM Digital Clock Radio 2.5 5 17 17
Roberts Dream2 radio. My radio is 16 months old and the speakers have stopped working! No warning they just switched off. I shall visit my local store on Monday. Fingers crossed! 02 August 2014
Good clock radio but with a major fault The radio works well. Sound quality and DAB reception are both fine. The controls are easy to use and the volume turns down very low if you wish (unlike my previous radio). The major fault is the lack of volume control when used as a 'wake to DAB' alarm. When the alarm goes off, the volume slowly increases (good) but the maximum is too loud for me. You cannot reset the max or get it to use to the previous volume setting. So every morning I have to reach over to touch the volume control to stop me being blasted with music. 08 July 2014
great clock radio Great little clock radio . My only disappointment is the quality of sound on the radio, the tone could be a lot better considering its a DAB radio. Which was why i only gave it a four star otherwise it would have made it to a five .It is very easy to set up and to operate. 14 May 2014
Not ideal Totally agree with the previous reviewer in that the volume of the radio alarm is set too loud. I sent mine back to Roberts and they were actually kind enough to reprogram it so that you can personally set the volume. But it's not that old (less than 2 years) and the speakers are shot. They work but eventually fade out. So looking to replace and may have re-bought if they had sorted out this volume issue! Back to the drawing board ;) 18 April 2014
Beware It isn't possible to set the volume on the radio alarm. It goes off quietly and then rises in volume until it reaches a predetermined level, which I found far too loud. You can change the volume back to where you want it, but it isn't that easy in the dark with the indistinguishable flat buttons. 04 October 2013
Good value for money! I really like this product. The DAB sound is so much better than my old one, and I love the fact that the display can be progressively dimmed to nothing. The tile controls were difficult at first but | have learned where each control is and it can be switched on and pre-set stations changed in the dark. I am very happy with it and it is good value for money. 02 October 2013
Not Roberts Best Offering Having enjoyed 2 previous Roberts radios, the DreamTime2 is a little disappointing. The DAB reception is good and clear and tuning is simplicity itself However, the unit suffers from very poor sound reproduction through its 2 tinny speakers. There is also an audible electronic hiss from the speakers and especially when using earphones at low volumes. The unit also lacks any substance and weight to keep it from sliding across the bedside table. Surprisingly for an alarm clock, the large flat plastic buttons have no tactile feedback for finding the right one to switch on or change volume/stations in the dark and eyes half shut. On the plus side, the display dimmer levels are good for a bedside radio although the orange LED display looks a little dated. 24 August 2013
Average Radio Good sound quality for bedside radio and clock is a good brightness for in the bedroom, however two bad points: 1. The alarm volume on radio is far too loud for a bedroom and its not possible to change this. I contacted Roberts but it is a 'feature' and because the volume scales up they said it shouldn't be a problem for me. 2. The buttons are all completely flat on the top of the radio, which ordinarily would be fine, but when I have to quickly change the volume each morning when it comes on extremely loud I often press the wrong button and turn the radio to FM or cancel the alarm etc. 14 May 2013
