ROBERTS Duologic DAB Digital Radio
1yr 3months stopped working
Up to now all fine but now will not switch on. Rang Roberts and they suggested getting batteries to check if was a plug problem or the actual radio. Rather annoying to buy 4 x 1.5v batteries which may be wasted

Received this Roberts radio as a Christmas present and am extremely happy with both the performance and ease of use.One particular nice touch is the built in battery charger ,always handy in these times of austerity.

Excellent quality radio
Having purchased, and had problems with, a Pure DAB radio in the past I looked at a number of alternatives this time round. Roberts have been a long established radio manufacturer and this model excels. Good sound from the twin speakers and also good tone. Station tuning simple, good reception. Thoroughly recommend

Roberts DAB wins again
I have always gone for Roberts because of the quality. This radio met my expectations. Excellent sound and it sucked in all the available stations with ease. Thanks Roberts and thanks John Lewis for mail order excellence. Not worth getting the car out for purchases these days.

I returned it
The sound was quality was not well balanced as mentioned by another reviewer. There are no base and treble adjustments. Interviews on Radio Four's Today programme were difficult to follow when the interviewers and interviewees were talking at the same time because of the sound balance. Worse though, for me, was the digital display. It has a narrow vertical angle of view which meant I had to pick the radio up to near eye level to read the display as I retuned to another station. The display was easy to read in the Audio Department at John Lewis because the radio shelf was at eye level. I returned the radio as unsuitable with absolutely no hassle.

Close But No Cigar !!
As mentioned in other reviews, the sound is very Bassy and Boomy. I bought this as an upgrade to my Roberts ECO1BK Ecologic 1 DAB/FM which has served me well for the past three years. I work outside and wanted a bit more volume when working in noisy surroundings ..... however, volume is no good if the resulting sound is very muffled and boomy.
I knew there was no tone control, but did expect the sound quality to be at least as good as the ECO1B ... How wrong !
I was "lured" to John Lewis for this purchase because of their 3 year guarantee and have always had good service from them. However, I have now relegated this radio to my wife, who's audio requirement is not so demanding are I ordered a Pure ONE Elite Series II with PURE ChargePAK which arrived Today!!
I have only had it for a couple of hours, but the sound quality is far superior to the Roberts, even without using the tone controls. It also has a nice, matt, rubberised, finish which, for my use, is far more practical than the shiny piano black of the Roberts.
To be fair, the Roberts is Fine for Talk Radio and Acoustic music at moderate sound levels but is no match for the Pure.
I hope this helps prospective buyers.

The item arrived very quickly, well packed. We had to order online as the store didn't carry this model. Roberts is a reliable, old-established company with an impressive range of products. We wanted a portable radio with rechargeable batteries and this model is perfect. The quality of sound is excellent and tuning is easy. .We have no regrets and look forward to many years pleasure with the security of John Lewis guarantee.
