The cartoonist Rupert Fawcett was born and raised in Kensington, West London. He became a professional cartoonist almost by accident when in 1989, whilst doodling, he drew a little bald man in braces and carpet slippers, naming him Fred. Weeks later, Fred appeared in Midweek - a free magazine given away at tube stations. Fred then went on to eventually appear in his own book.
Over the years, Fawcett has built a following, becoming a cartoonist for the Mail on Sunday. Off the Leash is his most recent venture and the first he launched digitally.
