One year and stopped working
I bought a black version of this kettle a year ago. It stopped working last week.
I used to have an electric kettle for years and not one year like this one. So disappointing.
I wish I remembered how long the guarantee was for as I would take it back. I didn't think it would last less than 2 years.

Purchased this kettle in January. The lid did not open sufficiently using the button provided to fill the kettle from the tap. Therefore had to open fully with hand and you could get scalded if kettle had just boiled.
Worse than that though, water poured over the kitchen bench if you did not hold it at exactly the right angle, also running down the side of the kettle. Often poured onto the kitchen floor & units. Very badly designed spout. Returned to John Lewis for a full refund. Good service from John Lewis as always.

Purchased this kettle 5 weeks ago, after considerable research. It looks good, is rather slow to boil and fairly noisy compared to previous kettles. From first use the lid did not open automatically far enough to be filled from the water tap but had to be raised further manually. Now the lid appears to be jammed shut and cannot be opened and will therefore have to be returned to John Lewis. Disappointing.

It's a kettle. It's quick. It works!
What can you say? It heats up in no time at all, has a funky blue light, you'll be drinking tea before you can say PG Tips. Good capacity as well for cooking etc....

So far this product has been exemplary at boiling water and switching itself off when it has completed the task. It looks most attractive ( for a kettle) and the cost was entirely reasonable. What more can you desire (In a kettle) ?
