I purchased this slow cooker as a gift, click and collect from my local Waitrose. I was dismayed to find when I got home and opened the outer plastic wrapping that the box was bashed on all four corners.
I telephoned John Lewis who offered a replacement. However when I arrived at Waitrose and checked the replacement the box was not only more severely bashed but the opening tab was very noticeably torn.
I ended up keeping the original slow cooker, but I was most embarrassed when handing it over as a gift. I stressed that this was not a used item.
I am not happy with the click and collect service, as you'd think after my first complaint that JL would make sure that the replacement packaging was perfect!

So far I have only used this twice but both meals were very successful. I intend to use it regularly so that we come home to an already prepared hot meal.

I absolutely love this slow cooker. It is the perfect size. I am able to prepare my dinner in the morning, leave it on all day while I'm at work and return home to a delicious home cooked meal.

Great purchase, and good price, simple to use, makes great food, dose what it says on the tin. Nothing fancy, but dose the job .

It looks great in my kitchen, the brushed steel outer doesn't show fingermarks.
It easily serves 4/5 generous portions but you can make just enough for 2 people if you want to.
I prefer to cook for 4 and freeze 2 portions for days when I just don't feel like cooking.
The base is fully enclosed, the outer unit does get quite hot on level 2 but no hotter than an oven door and is not a problem.
It has a short cable which is perfect, its not going to accidentally get pulled off the work surface.
The black gloss pottery bowl is easy to clean, the food didn't stick at all. It can be lifted out and taken to the table to serve if you want, it looks expensive. The lid fits snugly and doesn't rattle or let steam escape when cooking.
I put my ingredients in, turned it to level 2 for the first hour and then switched to level 1 for about 9 hours resulting in a perfect beef bourguignon.
After 10 hours the meat was so tender it did melt in your mouth and the sauce absolutely delicious.
Switched it to warm until we were ready to eat about an hour or so later. No last minute in a hot kitchen fussing over food. The keep warm facility is really good and it didn't dry out the food at all.
This cooker is going to save me a lot of time and I absolutely love it.
It is perfect for this time of year when you don't want to be in a hot kitchen, cooking.
Can't wait for winter - lazy nights, glass of wine and slow cooked tasty casseroles and hardly any washing up... perfect!
I bought this from John Lewis because you get a 2 year guarantee included, the price was excellent and their service is faultless so why buy it from somewhere else.
You won't be disappointed this is a quality product..
