Shame Bought mine two weeks ago. Great, great coffee but very noisy and it has now started leaking water from underneath. Only used it 10 times. Reading reviews on this and other websites this is obviously a common problem with this model and John Lewis should stop selling this machine until Saeco sort the problem out. Mine is going back for a refund. 14 January 2013

Great coffee but... This is my second A Modo Mio machine. The coffee is really splendid with lots of choice of flavour, 2 of each of about 8 different flavours come with the machine. HOWEVER - my first one lasted about 30 months - the guarantee is 2 years. 07 May 2012

Superb machine, great range of coffee Unlike other coffee machines I've tried, this one creates enough steam to make excellent espresso and to froth the milk straight away. We're using it much more often than I thought we would, not least because the coffee range is so good. Definitely not one of those kitchen gadgets that ends up in the white elephant cupboard. 08 April 2012

A much appreciated present - for the giver as well as the receiver! I got this as a birthday present for my boyfriend a couple of months ago, thinking we'd have an espresso from it every now and then as a treat. Instead, I find we use it every morning. I've gotten better at using the milk frother and can now make a decent cappucino - at first they were all lattes! The machine is easy to clean and care for. The capsule drawer pulls out and dismantles into three pieces than can be quickly hand-washed. The water compartment has a lid that's easy to remove and replace after refilling. One warning if you tend to be a bit absent-minded in the mornings, as I do: The machine doesn't have any mechanism for telling you when the capsule drawer is full or when the water compartment is empty. It will simply make horrible noises at you when you try to use it. I recommend emptying the drawer every five days if, say, you're making espressos for two of you every morning, and refilling the water compartment at the same time. I order refill capsules (16 to a box) from the Lavazza web site directly, since John Lewis doesn't stock the full range online. The capsules are pretty cheap, but you must order at least four boxes of capsules at a time and there is only one type of decaffeinated capsule, which can get a bit boring. 05 April 2012

Disappointing After looking at several coffee machines went for this one due to Lavazza being my favourite coffee. Also it was professionally demonstrated in-store by a Lavazza rep and it appeared to deliver the goods. However, when I got the machine home I couldn't get it to work despite following the instruction manual to the letter. Started the machine ok and primed the water circuit ok but when it came to making coffee it just wouldn't work as the capsules wouldn't pierce. Tried several capsules to ensure it wasn't a faulty capsule but to no avail. There was no mention of this problem in the troubleshooting section of the manual and don't even bother trying the technical support line. The instruction manual could be better, it is not the most user-friendly. It appears to have been directly translated into multiple languages including English so it doesn't always make sense. Very disappointed. Next time you're in a really good coffee shop have a look what brand of coffee machine they've got. Well then... 26 March 2012

SUPER PRESENT! I purchased this for my Husband for Christmas knowing he loves espresso coffee. I had looked around and weighed up the others on the market before eventually deciding on this model. I couldn't be more pleased. He is thrilled with it and rather than it being another appliance sitting around in the kitchen doing nothing, it is used a lot. Highly recommended for espresso lovers! 27 January 2012
