Product information

The Smart Kettle from Sage by Heston Blumenthal exudes elegance, high quality design and innovation.

This smart kettle will revolutinise the way you drink tea. To extract the most delicate flavours, different teas need to be steeped at different temperatures and this kettle lets you choose, for the perfect brew. Five pre-programmed temperature buttons tell you which temperature to select for which type of tea. It heats to the selected temperature, turns itself off, and if selected, will even keep warm for 20 minutes after heating.

The smart kettle features an ample 1.7L cord free jug. A push button and soft opening lid prevents hot water splatter for peace of mind. A quiet boil element and a scale filter tops off this model.

Q & As

Sage by Heston Blumenthal the Smart Kettle 3.9 5 17 17
Poor quality again We bought this together with a two slice matching toaster. As with the toaster, on unpacking the kettle we found it badly marked, so returned it and chose something else 16 December 2014
Lacks insulation So far so good. The kettle seems good in terms of its functions, and it looks nice. The main drawback in my view is that the exterior of the kettle lacks insulation and can get very hot as a result. So make sure you don't burn your fingers! 30 September 2014
Changed for simpler one! Ordered this one, but changed for the simpler one thanks to JL excellent service. We didn't drink all the variety of teas, but on reflection as winter approached it would have been good for filling hot water bottles! 24 August 2014
More than meets the eye This looks like an excellent kettle with lots of options to select the right temperature for various beverages. It's not too heavy, sleek styling and has an excellent finish. But... The minimum amount of water you have to use to make it work accurately is much more than I would normally use to make myself a cuppa, it has to be switched on and off at the mains otherwise uses electricity all the time to power the lights on the switches and the '95C coffee' temperature was only just lukewarm. Pretty disappointed really. 21 August 2014
Loving it! Looks beautiful and works wonderfully, yes it takes longer to get to 95 degrees than it does to boil, but unless you're really impatient then it really isn't that important - great tasting coffee is - to my mind at least 12 August 2014
Boils and bells The different temperatures for different teas really do seem to improve the taste. Just don't get hung up on the fact that the kettle stops in the middle of heating while it thinks about the temperature you've set. It gets there in the end. The kettle and its base are very elegant. The contents gauge is quite easy to read, the handle and opening mechanism are comfortable and easy to use. It pours well. No lime-scale filter and no insulation to the main body. Whether you like the ping when the water is ready is a matter of taste. I find it quite useful. 04 March 2014
Really great kettle, for what it is it's good value too OK, so how can a kettle be great? Well, it's a full 2.7l, but actually quite small and light when compared to some of the high tech multi-temperature verions. The stainless steel finish for both all of the kettle and stand is a quick wipe to keep clean. The buttons are a light push touch and light up. Some of the other makes use touch sensitive buttons and came on if a bit of water spills on the base. The different temperatures are useful for various teas, coffee and other drinks and sources... You can spot typical Heston attention to detail and quality, for example, the slight blue'ish colour of the water level window and the lid makes the water look inviting and the lid is even damped to stop you being hit by a quick pop up one. And yes, when it's off, it looks a real cool item... It shows every sgin of lasting a long time, which should make the value great too... 11 February 2014
For tea afficianados A wonderful kettle for those who drink delicate green, white, or oolong teas that benefit from lower water temperatures than black tea. The kettle takes a little bit of getting used to, at lower temperatures it starts to heat, then appears to turn off before starting up again, but once you get the hang of it it isn't a problem. There is a useful, quiet beep that tells you when the water has reached the right temperature. 10 January 2014
