Salter MiBody is a range of connected devices to make weight and health management easier. Measurements are sent wireless to your mobile device and can be viewed using the free to download MiBody App. Trends can be tracked overtime and the measurements explained with healthy/recommended ranges. The results are stored on your personal mobile device only and are private (unless you choose to share your achievements)!
The scale uses BIA (Bio Impedance Analysis) technology which passes a tiny electrical impulse through the body to determine fat from lean tissue, the electrical impulse cannot be felt and is perfectly safe. Contact with the body is made via stainless steel pads on the platform of the scale. This method simultaneously calculates your personal weight, body fat, total body water, BMI and muscle mass, giving you a more accurate reading of your overall health and fitness. It can store the personal data of up to 4 users.
MiBody can also be used as a conventional scale.

2 units both with same fault I have already had 2 of these units and am now arranging another exchange for a 3rd unit, and if that one fails I'll give up and ask JL for a refund. The first unit worked great for a week, seamless pairing over bluetooth with the Salter iPhone app. Worked a treat. Weight, BMI etc all showing up and trending in the app. Then after about a week I tried adding my son as a 3rd user (out of a total of 4) and the scales stopped communicating properly with my iPhone as well as my wife's iPhone. I tried various things to sort it, such as unpairing and repairing the phones and scales, as well as deleting the iPhone app and re-installing it. Nothing worked, and the user manual troubleshooting section is basically useless. I called Salter Customer Service who suggested taking the batteries out and putting them back in to reset the unit, and when this didn't work they said they were faulty. So JL kindly exchanged them. The 2nd unit has exactly the same fault except they’ve never worked! I called Salter Customer Services last Thursday to report the same issue. They told me they would refer the case to their Head Office Technical Team who would contact me in 2 working days, by COB last Monday. I heard nothing by then, so I called them again today, to be told that Head Office had not yet bothered replying and that I should wait up to another week from today. Clearly I’m not prepared to wait up to two weeks from reporting the second faulty unit, so I have arranged another replacement through JL, who as usual offer great Customer Service, unlike Salter. Time will tell if this third unit works, and if so, for how long. I suppose I will always be thinking ‘will it work today’ when I step on it. My advice would be try another brand as this model does not seem fit for purpose. 19 February 2014
