Q & As

Silver Cross Wayfarer Base Unit 3 5 10 10
terrible to push, even on carpet! I loved the look of this pushchair but it pushed like a bad supermarket trolley. There was nothing officially wrong with it but pushing around my house it was difficult. That was only with the baby in it, terrible on wooden floors and carpet. I returned it the next day. I can only imagine how awful it would be on gravel, paths, and uneven roads. It made my back ache as it was difficult to steer. As a city dweller, I walk a lot and so have swapped this, and now purchased a babyjogger GT, which is excellent and glides along. 31 May 2014
Really disappointed We spent a long time looking for a pushchair and were really excited when we finally settled on the wayfarer. There were no reviews available at the time as it was fairly new out but decided to go for it after talking to staff at the store and reading the description. We also loved the way it looked. We have been using the pram and pushchair for 4 months now and it is a total nightmare! The pushchair is hard to push and struggles to move on anything other than a totally flat surface, this makes going to the park very hard work as the wheels can't manage gravel or grass well and it's a very bumpy and uncomfortable ride for our daughter. The wheels really struggle on even the smallest of steps so it's hard to even get in and out the front door, the wheels seem to buckle and lock with no movability. The other things that are disappointing are: -you can hardly get anything in the large basket underneath when the carrycot is on. -The handle doesn't lock when on the shortest setting. -the toy clips are totally useless as they are in odd positions We have had a replacement already due to a faulty zip and John Lewis were amazing which is why we purchased it from there in the first place (fab customer service). We really wish we had picked something else as we spent a lot of money on it and now feel stuck with a pushchair that we aren't happy with. 19 May 2014

Good value for money I have been over the moon with the Wayfarer since I got it 2 months ago. The box had the carrycot included with it along with all the other pieces to make the pushchair, so my baby was able to be in it from the start. I had to buy the hood and cosytoes by itself, but that was ok as they fit on the carrycot aswell. My baby is very comfortable in the pram and loves going out for walks. 18 March 2014
Great Pram We got the black Wayfarer for our first baby last September and we have been very pleased with it. The baby carrycot that came with it was very good for the first few months, and it was very easy to take on and off and carry around. We also got the carseat to go on the pram, and it was very easy to use. My daughter has loved her car seat, although she seems to be getting quite big for it now. Now that she is older, we have been using the pushchair every day. It has been brilliant so far, and has been easy to put in and out of the car. The only problem is that we bought a black colour pack because we didn't know we were having a girl! I will choose a brighter colour for my next baby! 17 March 2014
Good pram system I am writing this review following six months of daily use of the Wayfarer. I have been quite happy with the Wayfarer overall and the benefits I have found are: The chassis folds up to a smaller size than many other similar pram systems, so great for getting into my small car boot in one piece. The chassis is really lightweight compared with many other similar systems on the market- again making it easy to get in and out of car boots etc. The chassis has a fairly small turning circle- good for getting around tight spaces in shops. The carrycot is nicely padded, keeping a newborn snug and well supported. The whole system looks good- whether in use with carrycot, pushchair or the carseat. What's not so good: The small solid wheels make it tricky to use this pram on grass, gravel or other uneven surfaces. When in use in carrycot form, it's hard to fit anything substantial into the basket at the bottom. Fine with the pushchair seat or carseat, though. A small thing but the cup holder is pretty useless. It doesn't stay in place when clipped on. There's no raincover for the carrycot, just for the pushchair. Overall I would say that is a very good pushchair/pram for use in straightforward urban/suburban areas, but probably not the right pram for you if you're planning plenty of use off pavements and roads due to the smallish, solid wheels and hard suspension. 13 March 2014
Really disappointing I was soo happy and pleased when this product came out and couldn't wait to get it. When I did get it 7 and a half months ago it was fine up until a few months the front wheel went wonky and did not go straight so I took it back and was replaced and now im still not happy because it does not go straight as it slightly turns to one side, very bumpy ride and the wheels are not big enough. The whole design for chassis needs to be redesigned. Don't know what im going to do now! 04 March 2014
Sturdy with good features. Summary: We bought the Wayfarer for our first born back in August 2013 and after extensive use it has proven to be a great stroller. The unit itself looks good and the seats provide good support for the baby. Pros: > Quick fold action in one movement. > Lots of additional accessories i.e. cup holder, cot seat and 1yr+ seat, cot inner mat. > Quality of materials used. > Good variety of seat positions. > Big basket. Cons: > Although basket is big, accessing it can obstructed by the seat. 19 February 2014
