Q & As

simplehuman Compact Dish Drainer, Grey 4.5 5 11 11
Great looking compact dish rack The Simplehuman Compact Dishrack is a good looking, well made and designed rack that fits perfectly on our smallish drainer, and in the sink as well. I was concerned, having read a number of reviews that plates would not stand in the rack ... Well our fairly hefty denby plates do, so I'm happy. We have a dishwasher, so most will go straight in there, but we do like to wash our wine glasses by hand, and we do have a few bits and pieces that I would not risk in the dishwasher. Although compact, the dishrack holds a fair amount. As for cleaning it, as it fits snuggly in the sink, a regular dunk with a mild bleach solution should keep everything nice and clean. 14 May 2013
The photo does not reflect the true color JL should change the photo. The item is in much darker grey than in the photo. I received my purchase through local waitrose but was rather disappointed with the rather dull, dark shade. Only keep it because I couldn't bother to go to Local JL looking for something else. Wish it come in a bright color 03 February 2013
Best Drain Rack Ever! Had to write a review on this drainage rack. Quite different to any other boring plastic racks I have had in the past and I wanted one with a design to drain away the drips. This one had been designed to prefection and am very impressed. At first,I thought it looked small when I took it out of the package but it has been more than adequate. Fab!! 28 October 2012
Stylish and effective Great product, looks great and protects the stainless steel draining board from getting water stained. 12 September 2012
Excellent product I got this after my umpteenth wooden rack had fallen apart. I don't usually like plastic dish drainers but this one is nicely designed and looks good in my black and white kitchen. Unlike another reviewer I had no problem stacking Denby plates...I just turned them around so they fall the other way and are quite stable. The spout drainer thing means I can position this on the side of the sink with no drainer and then use the drainer for pots and pans. It was a bit bigger than I thought it would be which I am pleased about as it holds two place settings easily. 04 September 2012
Very good and stylish product A great product - very stylish and it looks small but actually has quite a large capacity. 08 August 2012
plates would not stand upright Nicely made product but I found that my Denby dinner plates would not stand firmly upright - they keeled over. I proceeded to try other types of crockery in my cupboard and experimented with cereal bowls, soup bowls and large side plates; all of which would not stand up, only thin dinner plates and side plates were the only type of china that sat firmly. The stainless steel feet would have been better if they were covered with a protective coating to stop any scratching of work-surface or sink. Also, I found the cutlery holder very small. Liked the idea of being able to lift the whole thing up and putting it into the sink. 16 July 2012
A Useful Object Can be used, effectively, as a temporary second 'draining board' for a sink with a single draining board, or as a third 'draining board' for a sink with double draining boards. I'm using mine on top of a single draining board, in a very small kitchen, and when the dishes are racked into the Compact Dishrack, it's then removed to a flat surface so that the pots can be drained on the sink's single draining board. There are many other possible arrangements for this versatile object. For instance, remove the wire rack and the Compact Dishrack could be used for washing and draining relatively large quantaties of fruit, vegitables, meat, fish etc. The draining spout can be rotated to any of the four sides of the Compact Dishrack and rotated to any of the four corners for stowage. When the draining spout is stowed at one of the corners the maximum dimensions of the Simplehuman Compact Dishrack are: H 16.5cm L37cm W33cm 21 May 2012
