Recommend to everyone So simple and easy to use not a lot of difference to my mothers older one 09 April 2014
Excellent value I bought this as a second sewing machine - my 1980's singer machine stays at my sewing class so I wanted one to keep set up at home. I have done a few things with it including different fabrics, layers, different stitches etc and it has coped well with everything. It is an excellent machine and so easy to use. Threading is very similar to the old style singer. I have taken off a star for the bobbin for the lower's excellent when it is working, but on the one occasion I got a problem (the upper thread or a loose thread got looped into the bobbin casing somehow) it was tricky to get into the bobbin casing. This seems to be the way many machines are set up now as others in my sewing class have had similar problems with theirs (other makes, not singer). Snag with thread did n't ruin my project fabric as the machine stopped. Overall excellent value for money. 04 January 2014
Easy to use Very easy to use. Only find unconfortable to turn `wheele´ on right side 02 December 2013
Not Very Good :-( Unfortunately I had to return this sewing machine today. I received this sewing machine as a gift to replace my very old Singer sewing machine. I have had nothing but trouble with it. My threads are breaking or getting jammed in the machine. My fabrics are ruined because of the constant jamming and snagging. It's a shame as I have always used Singer. Maybe I just got a bad one but it has put me off. I swapped it for a John Lewis Sewing machine and it is fab! Cannot fault the John Lewis customer service. Excellent as always. 15 April 2013
Easy to use What a brilliant service from John Lewis - the machine arrived 2 days after ordering and by the afternoon I had sewn tape on some curtains and they were hanging in the lounge by tea time. I am delighted. 18 January 2013
great easy item to use hi i bought this sewing machine for my mum for xmas ( she is 83) she loves it ! its so easy to use mind u i did have to show how to put the bobin in but thats not bad for a 83yr old !!! i am really looking forward to my mum doing my repairs 06 January 2013
Great little machine! I wanted pretty things, like a new duvet cover and sofa covers and curtains, but I have the problem of expensive taste. However, these things are easy to make, so I wanted a reliable machine that could sew in a straight line, didn't need too many bells and whistles. Singer has been the top brand in sewing machines forever, and this little guy has totally met my expectations. Great value for money- does just what it says on the tin. (Actually, it comes in a box.) 06 November 2012
