Product information

The heavy duty yet lightweight frame of the Singer 4411 sewing machine makes it ideal for demanding usage. It's designed with a long lasting stainless steel bed plate. It can handle all types of fabric and sewing, from delicate embroidering to quilting; it’s also suitable for users of any experience.

The 4411 is 50% faster than a standard machine and can complete 1100 stitches per minute. Its rotary hook movement gives you a jam-free thread feed, while the electronic foot pedal gives you complete control - at any speed. And when you think you’re near the end of the bobbin, the view-through window can let you quickly check.

The Singer Heavy Duty has 11 stitch patterns, a 4-step automatic buttonhole, and 3 needle positions. The reverse button and twin needle also lets you reinforce a stitch easily. Additional features on the 4411 include adjustable stitch width and length, adjustable presser foot pressure, extra presser foot lift, and a drop-in bobbin.

Singer Heavy Duty 4411 Sewing Machine 4.2 5 11 11
amazing i have recently started a fashion degree and i have little experience with sewing machines the ones i use in university are industrial but i needed one to use at home, one thing i have learned is that if you are going to buy a sewing machine buy a quality one first time before buying the singer 4411 i had a brother machine which wasn't very good as i was a very light weight machine which would tip over when i pushed the fabric through. The singer 4411 is going through 5 layers of fabric with no problems and it has weight behind it so it won't tip over its also easy to thread up and it doesn't take up lots of space i store mine under desk along with my overlocker 16 April 2013
Let's hope it's sturdier than it looks! I bought this machine to replace my Singer Samba 4 which had worked faultlessly for 26 years before breaking. However, the only thing heavy duty about the 4411 is the name, so I hate to think how flimsy the machines are that aren't classed as heavy duty! Anyway, reassured by the 2 year guarantee from John Lewis, I decided not to send the machine back. The first thing I noticed is that the bobbin does not wind evenly, it fills the bobbin only at the bottom, so you can only get a limited amount of thread on, but OK for small jobs, I suppose. However, a plus point is that it's much easier to thread than my old machine, although as mentioned by other reviewers the thread spool looks as if it would break with a puff of wind. The foot pedal is very flimsy and needs some nudging before it actually decides to work. Not sure if that's a fault of the pedal (it's made of the flimsiest plastic you could imagine) of just a foible of the pedal itself. All in all, the build quality is not a patch on what I was expecting for the price, but I suppose these days, with built-in obsolesence mandatory, I shouldn't have built my hopes up. Time will tell, but I doubt this sewing machine will last me 2 years, let alone 26. I hope I'm wrong. 19 November 2012
great customer service from Singer Had a problem with the foot pedal cutting out. Rang Singer who got an engineer to call me back within a couple of hours. She was very friendly and helpful and arranged for a replacement to be sent out which arrived a couple of days later. Machine is very easy to use and just what I was looking for, although is a little too noisy according to my 10 year old. 14 November 2012
Its a good machine Am one of those nervous buyers when it comes to machines. As a beginner it is easy to install and sews well. Will recommend to anyone. 24 March 2012

Another fantastic Singer machine Over the summer, I was looking to replace a much-loved but well used 1950's singer sewing machine. After extensive research, I settled on this model and I have to say it's worth its weight in gold! I'm delighted with the performance and design of this model. It handles multiple layers, thick materials like oilcloth and denim and also fine thin layers with ease. It came with a clear and useful manual, some spare bobbins and needles, a seam ripper, a cover and even an additional foot. I am so impressed with this sewing machine and cannot recommend it highly enough. 23 November 2011
AN EXTREME DISAPPOINTMENT I bought this machine a few months ago - and returned it to the store for a full refund within 3 days. All the descriptions state that this machine is "metal construction" - however this is NOT the case. The only metal part is a stainless steel plate that is on the free arm - the rest of the machine is plastic. It is supposedly much faster than other machines at over 1000 spm, however I bought this machine to replace my 15 year old New Home - which was equally as fast. This machine is surprisingly noisy in operation. Yes, it does go through several layers of thick material, however you can clearly hear the motor labour and strain under these conditions (an example is jeans hems). The light is extremly dim, and the needle is set far back from the front of the bed - which means you have to slightly slouch down to see what you are doing. The spool holder is extremely flimsy. All in all, this is not what I expected from a "heavy duty" machine 01 November 2011
Good little work horse. Great machine exactly what it says in the title. I have managed to sew about 6 layers of calico fabric, (using a denim needle) and it sailed through. It can also do light to medium weight fabrics. Its a no fuss machine has few stitches but the vital ones you need. Top loading bobbin, zipper foot, buttonhole foot all you need in the machine to get going. Its a great little work horse. 26 July 2011
