Sleepyhead Deluxe Bed Guard, White
This is a really good product and the information stated in other reviews (which prompted us to buy it) says the positives. One small caution is that for us our baby had outgrown it, in length at only 8 weeks, so we have since used it with the bottom unclipped. Now at 11 weeks he is nearly too wide for it too. We are both 6ft so if you think you may a have a big/ long baby it's worth knowing it won't last the 8 months as stated. That said, I still think it was worth it - it's very lightweight and versatile and our little one would have outgrown a Moses basket anyway, so this purchase was still best for us.

The best baby sleep product ever!
I brought the sleepyhead after 3 weeks of very little sleep based upon the positive reviews as my newborn daughter would not settle in her moses basket. Each night she began to sleep a little better but by the end of the week she was managing 3/4 hour stretches (a miracle). She's now 5 months and we have just transferred her from the sleepyhead to her cot. I worried that this would be a problem but she has settled without a problem. I would thoroughly recommend the sleepyhead and I believe it has enabled her to relax and enjoy going to sleep as she felt so secure subsequently she is now a fantastic little sleeper.

My new born baby would not sleep in his moses basket on his own and wanted to be held the whole time like all new borns, but when we got the Sleepyhead when he was about 3 weeks old, he would sleep no problems, all snug and tight in. This made him feel secure and warm. It's probably not designed to go inside the moses basket but it worked for us! The only issue is the price and the spare covers are too expensive. Also, the covers are a bit fiddly to get back on again. But, if it means your baby sleeps, who cares!

The one baby must have!
If there is one thing I would recommend to new parents it is this! Bought for my daughter on a whim after she was admitted to hospital at 4 weeks old and looked tiny in the hospital cot which she hated but had to stay in due to all the wires. From day one when we bought it into hospital she loved it, when we got home she still napped in it and it was ideal for when we went away as we had no problem about her feeling she was in unfamiliar places as she had her sleepyhead. Now moved her to her big cot bed in her own room and still using it in there, so no problems with e transition. She is now 6 and a half months and small for her age so will still be in it for a good while yet which is brilliant. It is absolutely worth every penny! Good for tummy time too! Even adored by an initially sceptical husband who would do anything to save money and yet now says it is our very best purchase!

This really works to get baby to sleep
A friend recommended this amazing product to me after I moaned about my baby not settling in her Moses basket.
After 4 weeks of sleepless nights with a baby that only slept if she was resting on me, I was beginning to dread night times.
So on recommendation, I bought Sleepyhead, got it delivered to my local Waitrose store and picked it up the next day.
I have to say it has worked wonders. The first night I put my baby to sleep in it, she settled straight away and has done ever since. She still wakes for her regular night time feeds but as soon as I put her back down, she sleeps again. I think it must be the snugness off the bed that comforts her and she feels safe. I do have it on the bed next to me so I am sure that helps too but in my mind this is a miracle product, well worth every penny!
She is now 12 weeks and as a long baby, probably has another few weeks before she grows too big for it. I am not looking forward to the transition into a cot, but for now I will enjoy the fact my baby settles so well at night. I recommend Sleepyhead to anyone who has a baby that does not like it's Moses basket/cot.

Do believe the hype!
I am also writing my first review for John lewis as I can't recommend this product enough. No one I knew had tried it out, so it was only through the positive reviews that I had the confidence to buy it. I persuaded my dad to buy this for us for our daughters arrival, and it has been the best purchase ever! It is so cosy for your baby to sleep in, making them feel secure and snuggled. Our daughter slept in it for 6 months - you can use it inside her big cot if you want to at night and then use it all over the house during the day.. (our baby was always happy if she was in the same room as us). It provided sanity when I wanted to shower, as I just placed her in view. When we travelled it just came too - so she always had continuity. Its also great for belly time when they get a little older as you can lean them over the front and let them play with a toy. Shes now 8 months old and no longer sleeps in it, but it has become her changing matt which helps prevent her from rolling and crawling off when trying to change her! So the little miracle sleepyhead just keeps getting used. Covers wash really well and are great quality. Well worth every penny and couldn't have survived without it! Thanks Dad!

A MUST HAVE!!!!!
I read the reviews on this before buying it and thought it seemed worth investing in as was so highly rated! Well I cant imagine how my baby boy would have managed sleeping as well with out it now, and was compelled to write my first ever review on the John Lewis website., My husband and I are chuffed we parted with the cash to buy this (as it does seem rather expensive for what it is) but when we take it the Sleepyhead out of the moses basket it looks huge with out it and we cant imagine how our little guy would have settled and slept in such a big space without it.
It's also great the way you can also move it round the house should you wish to, and also great as an overnight travel cot should you be going away.
I'm looking forward to getting more use out of it as he eventually moves into his own room and even bigger cot.
The little fella just loves it in his sleepy head as its nice and snug and he cant upset himself kicking his arms and legs around waking himself up.
We cant recommend this enough, well worth the expense and should last up until he is 6 months old.

My daughter has slept in this happily from the start and six months on she is now growing out of it so I am happy with the use I've got from it. I didn't want to buy a Moses basket as many people I know said their babies wouldn't sleep in there. Also once you've paid for all the bits needed for a half decent Moses basket the cost could easily come up to the price of this. Plus you've got to store it all once your done with it!
This just seems very comfortable for the baby and as a parent I am not worried about her rolling around in her cot and getting into any awkward/dangerous positions. She was a tiny baby too so putting her to sleep in this gave me some piece of mind given I can't sit there and watch her constantly. Yes getting it all back into the cover is tricky but we've done it may times now so not something to be concerned about. The cover washes and dries very well and is completely waterproof.
I have no regrets so far. I would recommend this to any parent who wants themselves and of course their baby to get some decent sleep.
