Got an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch? Simply download the free Sonos Controller app and turn it into a full-fledged Sonos Control that works over your home WiFi network. If you want a dedicated controller that everyone in the house can use, the touch screen Sonos Control is available separately. Got a desktop or laptop? Then use the Sonos Control for Mac or PC for added control. They all work together seamlessly so mix and match to your heart’s content.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Does what it says on the box. A really good product, if somewhat slightly overpriced for what it does. The only reason it's not a 5 star rating is twofold: First if you directly connect an existing hifi (from the amp) via the line-in to the Sonos connect and have Sonos wireless speakers in the same room (I added two Play 1s) as the existing hifi setup there is a very slight delay on the wireless speakers that make the music unlistenable (in my opinion) in that room. The only way I found around this was routing the line-in to the Sonos Connect via a mixer (so the amp signal doesn't go straight to the wired speakers); not an ideal solution but it works. Second if you live in an area with a high density of wireless signals (I live in a 3 storey block with 10 flats and each flat probably has it own wifi network) there is regular wireless interference on the Sonos network that causes signal dropout to the wireless speakers, which causes music to stop playing intermittently. This problem can be managed slightly by changing Sonosnet channels but it doesn't go away completely. I wasn’t aware of these issues before I bought the Sonos products. Neither is catastrophic but they make my Sonos experience less elegant than it could be. 06 August 2015

I was always a little sceptical about Sonos stuff and the reviews it was getting online but I am now a big fan of the quality and thought that has clearly gone into the products having bought this. My wife is now regulaly listening to various foreign language radio stations (as she is fluent in several languages) and adores the Connect and how easy it is to use the Sonos app on her phone to choose what she listens to. I have the Sonos Connect linked to a hard drive (music files in folders which was simply a copy of iTunes music folders) with the Sonos connected to my stereo hifi amplifier via a digitial coaxial cable. My stereo amp has it's own rather special built in 'digital to analogue convertor' (DAC) so the Connect is really just a music / online radio streaming device into my hifi set up and it's simply brilliant and just so convenient to stop/start and choose music on my iPhone. Alternatively you could simply use the left/right analogue outputs on the Connect box to connect to an existing amplifier as if you were connecting a CD Player and let the Sonos work it's magic or buy some wireless Play speakers and away you go. Really can't praise the Sonos Connect enough for it's connectivity options as it's now very much a core piece of electronic gadgetary in our home we use every single day. 17 June 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect set up Having spoilt myself with a top end Hi-fi system, I was struggling with their awful Android app for streaming. This was the perfect answer, connected by leads to their amplifier means that I can now stream all my music from my NAS drive as well as on-line radio via the excellent Sonos App. I already have a Sonos playbar and sound system in another room and this was a doddle to set up. 17 June 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 Utter junk - avoid at all cost I bought a Sonos system through John Lewis a few years ago and it has been nothing but utter pain and misery since then. Sometimes it works, then for no reason whatsoever it stops working, usually when you have friends round and you want to hear music. Sometimes it just doesn't recognise the system at all. I have spent endless evenings and weekends on the phone to Sonos support in the US. The best they could do is move my music folders out of itunes - that worked for about 2 months, now it doesn't work. I think there are two fundamental issues with this product: 1. It creates its own wi-fi network and this just isn't robust and 2. It doesn't really integrate with Apple, this may in part be down to Apple, but if you want to use itunes to manage your music then you are stuffed in my experience. If you are considering this - go and look at their support forums and you will see I am not alone. 19 May 2015

Rated 1 out of 5 by Useless - no sound coming from my hifi I hooked up and programmed everything per the instructions meticulously, but no sound comes out of my speakers (my existing hifi system and speakers work fine on their own). The cables are all hooked up correctly. I can see the Connect on my controller app and it appears to be playing the music I have requested. My hifi system is set to Analog Ln. I called Sonos this evening and was on on hold for 30 min waiting for a rep before being abruptly cut off by a recorded message saying that it was now past hours. Useless product and useless customer service. I will be returning the Connect. 15 December 2014
