Please note that you'll need to purchase wall brackets from John Lewis separately; we can only fit using brackets bought from us. This service includes:

  • A pre-visit phone call to check that your wall and location are suitable for wall mounting
  • Unpacking and fitting your wall bracket and removal of packaging
  • Connecting your TV to the aerial and tuning in to all available channels

Rated 5 out of 5 by Very pleased but does have it’s peculiarities All in all very pleased with this set and recommend it. We find the black levies to be excellent and the colours bright and superb. This set has the necessary codec etc to stream 4K from Netflix (for which it has a dedicated button on the remote and we had no issues setting up our Netflix account) and Amazon. This set is very good at upscaling HD content to near 4k. The sound is very good and punchy enough on the bass. There is also a setting to bring the voice up which is very useful when you have neighbours to consider. We haven’t found anything ‘bad’ yet but the set does have some peculiarities that we hadn’t realised before buying. Not ‘deal breaker’ points as such but things that could have been better. -The interface is a little clunky and sometimes slow to respond. -The VESA holes on the rear are only 300mm, not 400mm as you might expect on a 55”. -Bizarrely the power cord is hardwired!! As we wanted this on the wall this meant having to cut off the plug to feed the cable through the wall. -The built in larger speakers make the TV deeper at the back and can cause problems with ultra slim wall mounts - so this was far from the simple swap on the wall from our previous 55” that we had hoped. -And the most disappointing bit - although the set has a twin Freeview HD tuner facility it only records one channel at a time (although you can watch one channel while recording another). This is the most disappointing part for us as we had hoped to replace our twin tuner Freeview recorder which we cannot do. Having said that, our previous experience of this facility on other TVs has not been good anyway. 29 January 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by MARVELOUS PICTUREI I bought this Tv on the advice of the very helpful JL staff at Peterborough, having returned a Panasonic 58" 4K tv which had a disappointing picture and faulty sound! This tv really does a good job of up scaling sky & terrestrial Hd pictures, far better than my old panasonic plasma tv, which could not be said for the panasonic 4K tv. The manufacturers setting for sound & picture did not need altering. 3D pictures are also very good from sky . I use a ps3 to play dvds including 3D ones & the picture is stunning! The sound is not bad but lacks bass so I would recommend a sound bar. I have no problem using netflix on this tv but do not expect much 4K yet! Some menus take a bit of finding for fine adjustments but once set the basic controls from the remote are ok. You can also move the stands to a more central position so the table does not have to be as big as the tv. For the money this tv is a good replacement for a 50" plasma. 26 January 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by No Netflix - seems i am not the only one Like many others - more than are writing reviews - I cannot get Netflix on my beautiful new Sony X85 UHD TV After much thought and weighing up the competition it was the Netflix button than swung it and what a pain that has become John Lewis - I have to say have been outstanding in their service but still I have no Netflix Netflix could only get me as far as trying to deactivate the app - which did not work Sony now have me changing IP addresses and network connection setup - which is not helping. Now I am advised its an firmware update that is required and this does not yet exist so its a waiting game. Love the tele - it really is stunning and the passive 3D is unreal I am a firm believer in try and try again - but this takes the biscuit. I have every confidence in John Lewis and know they will find a solution so fingers crossed 19 January 2015

Rated 1 out of 5 by Very disappointing After years of being a loyal, very happy Panasonic customer we decided to purchase a sony. Only 3 weeks old and we now have a dark left side on the screen with visible vertical lines and when you change channel you can still see the existing channel. Joe in John Lewis technical support was very helpful and after a few tests diagnosed a fault with the tv and it would need replacing. I am now concerned about the general reliability, will it happen again?. Also if it happens outside of 28 days all we will get is a call out from Sony. But, what is even more frustrating and extremely annoying is John Lewis cannot replace the tv for 7 days due to being booked up with deliveries.So much for John Lewis customer service!!! 06 January 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Does not show Netflix I bought the Sony KD55X8505 last week and was promptly delivered on Saturday, then spent hours configuring the TV, with particular problem with Netflix. After several attempts and trouble shooting using other devices which works seamlessly I then called John Lewis to complain only to be told to call Sony on Monday. I have just called Sony and spent another 3hrs with several steps and emails with various instructions and even reset to factory setting yet no joy. I have no choice but to send the TV back and buy Panasonic which hopefully should work as expected. The Sony TV does not even integrate with any of the existing Sony appliances! Totally disappointed with this product as I have spent hours researching and finally settled for this particular product and was looking forward to enjoying the holiday with a new TV with the children. Emails from Sony: In regards to the issues you are encountering with your TV, please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you. Please follow the steps below to know how to re-activate your Netflix app: 1. Deactivate and reactivate the Netflix application as outlined below. 1. Launch the Netflix app. 2. Using the arrows on your remote, enter the following sequence: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Up, Up, Up, Up. 3. Select Deactivate and exit the screen. 4. Restart the Netflix app and sign in to your account. 2. Test the Internet connection of the device by trying with another application. Perform network/Internet troubleshooting or re-establish the Internet connection again if you are unable to connect to the Internet. Please refer to the user manual or i-manual of the set. 3. Attempt to search for the title again in Netflix. 4. Try to play another title in Netflix. 5. Restart the device by unplugging it from the power outlet for at least 10 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on, etc 22 December 2014
