Poor Colour Degradation
The TV was simple to install, including internet access.
Unfortunately, colour degradation was unacceptable: as deviating from watching dead-centre resulted in washed-out colours (particularly skin tones). As the TV was purchased for use in a dining room only one household member was able to enjoy an optimal viewing experience.
Reviews on the poor sound quality of this TV are not to be underestimated: it really is that bad.
Sadly, the TV was returned to JL for a full-refund.

No access to itv players or Eurosport
Build quality and general performance to the expected high standards of Sony. However,the TV is not very smart. With the poor quality of TV programmes in general the main reason for purchasing the TV was to watch the various catch up players and subscription channels selectively.It supports BBC i player but not the various ITV players.The total disaster is that it does not now (It did previously) support Eurosport the channel for top quality cycling (giro d italia/tour d france/tennis etc ).As a cycling fan this was the main reason for the purchase of the TV.I can watch these progammes crouched over my lap top so why is theTV incapable of giving me the pleasure of the big screen?
The specification detail needs to make clear that

Not Impressed
The screen developed a fault (green line down the centre) after less than 5 months use.What made it worse was when the tv was returned to Sony for repair a replacement screen was not in stock and had to be ordered.
So far I have been without this tv for over two weeks.
This was an expensive tv for its size and due to the that fact a replacement screen was not available I felt a new set should have been supplied.
This is the first and last Sony product Ishall purchase.

Sony 26" tv
Not a bad all round unit & suits our home. The only down side to this unit we have found is that the sound on any setting is not the best . needs a sound system to help it.

Colour & picture clarity excellent
Colour and clarity excellent and although the sound from the unit is a bit duff,it is worth a mention that the sound out can be set to standard as opposed to a compressed format, which helps. As a techno-phobe i found this unit easy to set up,( idiot proof ), However as these days technical instructions are a bit poor, i had problems accessing any sound output from the internet which is NOT POSSIBLE VIA a SCART LEAD. You need a mini-jack to 2 RCA if using a HiFi amplifier into speakers.

Excellent TV for kitchen or bedroom
This 26 inch TV has replaced the old 19 inch in our kitchen and what a difference. The picture is exceptionally sharp, as is the styling and despite warnings from the doom mongers the sound is fine too.
And of course we can watch iPlayer, U tube etc on the WiFi connection - fantastic. Just love it.

The picture is clear and sharp. The sound is a little bit thin but a sound bar can be a good solution. This TV is also easy to set up and use.

Great picture, sound fine for most purposes
We bought this as a second TV, to be used in our garden room to catch up on news programmes etc. Set-up was very simple and the picture quality on both SD and HD channels is excellent, although the viewing angle is rather narrow before the picture begins to "wash out". The programme guide is very clear and simple to use, with the programme content summary for the selected programme shown at the top the guide page. Regarding the sound quality, yes, it is rather thin and might be unsatisfactory for music or films, but is perfectly adequate for most other TV programmes. The internet functions are a bit slow, but this might be due to our wireless hub being some distance away. Usual excellent service from John Lewis and the inclusive five-year warranty makes their price very competitive: take a look at how much some other retailers charge extra for their extended warranties!
