Q & As

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 23 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Better Baking this mixing bowl is all you need to bake perfect cakes. The size and shape of the bowl remind me of watching my mother and grandmother bake, then being allowed to hold the bowl carefully and finish the left overs of uncooked cake mixture. A practice frowned upon today but it was fun as a child especially if the mix was chocolate. 20 April 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Damaged Arrived smashed so couldn't use it! John Lewis has no more to send! Brought elsewhere in the end. 07 January 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Brilliant baking bowl I have used it for raising dough, making pastry, making cakes and it has proved invaluable 17 November 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Unfortunate Experience This was sent as a gift and was unfortunately broken into 3 pieces when it arrived. Whilst your customer care department were very good and gave me a refund without asking me to return the product, which would have been complicated, I would really have preferred for the recipients to have had their mixing bowl to use. Suggest much better packing in future! 02 September 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by One use and grey staining I broke my previous Mason Cash bowl after 40 years usage. It never stained or lost it's white inside coating. After only one use (with a wooden spoon) this new bowl it has marked with grey. Obviously made in a very inferior way than my broken bowl. 12 May 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by weight worry have used this loads since i purchased it i was worried about the weight but is not as heavy as i thought it might be 23 June 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Bad quality I used a hand held mixer on this bowl for the very first time and the bowl has badly scratched leaving grey marks. Bad quality glazed. What kind of a mixing bowl if you cannot use a hand held mixer on it?? Regretfully the item has to be returned to John Lewis due to poor quality. 23 June 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Bad Purchase Please be aware that you should not use metal blades with this bowl. The new types are damaged when you use a hand held mixer and scratches the glaze leaving unsightly grey marks on the bowl. Obviously OK for the days of just a wooden spoon or plastic spatula use. Not practical at all. 13 February 2013
