Philips GC4860/02 Azur Steam Iron

Product information

Remove even the toughest creases, with the Philips GC4860/02 Azur steam iron.

Hosting a mighty 2600W output, quick heat-up and great performance come as standard with the Azur iron. And peace of mind is guaranteed too, as it automatically turns off when left unattended - no more worrying about whether you turned off the iron when you left the house!

This useful appliance shows off a non-stick ceramic SteamGlide PLUS soleplate that glides effortlessly over all fabrics. The powerful 50g per minute steam output continues to make light work of ironing, and even the most stubborn creases will never survive the 200g/min steam boost.

Elongated steam slots on the tip of this Philips appliance ensure that even tricky to reach areas are ironed to perfection. For added convenience a generous 350ml water tank capacity gives you the freedom to iron for longer periods of time, while an extra-large door opening lets you fill up at the sink with ease.

And now you can easily steam creases away from clothes while they remain on the hanger, thanks to the handy vertical steam facility. The drip-stop system guards your garments from water drops while ironing, and a calc clean solution keeps your iron scale-free.

Q & As

Philips GC4860/02 Azur Steam Iron 4.7 5 86 86
Great iron Would definitely recommend this iron, it's takes the hard work out of ironing. It also has a nice long cable. 08 July 2014
Does a great job Purchased this as a replacement for my previous Philips Azur iron. I have always been happy with performance from this make, but after many years of service the steam/spray buttons had finally given up. This iron does what it is supposed to do, quickly and efficiently. I don't find it heavy, but then I am used to this make. There is some noise as it produces the steam, but it is not excessively loud. Worth every penny. 19 June 2014
Smooth and effective Although this is a fairly heavy iron, it runs so smoothly that you don't notice it when ironing. It has to be re-filled quite frequently on the steam setting but it is so efficient, even on linen and thick cotton, that that is a small price to pay. The cover to the water inlet is a little awkward as it opens to the side - it would be better if it lifted upward - and seems as it it might break easily if knocked. However, in all I am very pleased with my purchase. 10 June 2014
Excellent iron I have been looking for a good iron to replace my steam iron. This is an excellent iron with lots of steam pockets which makes ironing easier without having to constantly go over the same area. The slight negative is that I find it a little heavy to handle but I suppose I will get used to that. 10 June 2014
Excellent iron Had to replace an earlier version of this iron after many years and am very pleased with this version. The iron is easy to use, and lighter. The pointed sole plate makes it easy to reach difficult areas to iron 07 June 2014
A good buy I bought this iron on the Which? recommendation. I'd had my previous iron for many years and the steam facility hadn't worked for a long time so I decided it was time to buy a new iron. When I first handled this iron in the shop it felt quite heavy but I haven't found that since I've been using it at home. The steam facility works very well in ironing out creases with little effort. The only critisism I've found so far is that it sometimes spits out water when in the resting position on my ironing board which consequently drips on to the floor. 27 May 2014
Quite good Still getting the hang of it. First use it dripped water at the steam setting which was quite annoying as this was what it was bought for. Has been getting better but think I may have bought the wrong model as it's not the same product number as the recommendation in Which magazine! 20 May 2014
Phillips GC 48602/02 Azur Steam Iron This is my third same iron. I like it due to great steam boost & auto shut off function. I would say it is one of the best iron I would recommend to any one. It's wonderful to collect it from the branch via click & collect system. 20 May 2014
