Dualit Burr Coffee Grinder
A good replacement
I bought the Dualit Burr grinder to replace another brands one that I had owned for about 10 years. What attracted me to it was the ease of cleaning it compared to the old one and the positive on-line reviews. It is very easy to operate and my only quibble is that the beans in the hopper seem to stick at times but a simple nudge gets them going again.

A Brilliant Coffee Grinder
Rotating the hopper to click it onto one of the 10 coarse - fineness settings is a
super way to set the grinder. I use 10 for filter paper, 6 for Cona and 5 for cafetiere. To make one cup of coffee put the beans for one cup into the hopper, set the grind level and press start and then stop when the beans have gone through. It is powerful and noisy but not for long as it is very quick.

Really great grinder
I bought this as my first bean grinder had a very small, 2 portion, bowl and I had begun to use it for spices instead. This machine is robust, yet looks sleek and fits neatly into the kitchen. It grinds perfectly and with a very good range of adjustment from percolator coarse grade through to expresso fineness. The portion control is also an excellent idea though you have to decide what it means for you. For example with my smallest cafetiere the 3 cup setting as about right as I like my early morning coffee to be strong. If I had two very small quibbles then the first would be that the directions say the top burr wheel lifts out for easy cleaning. It didn't - until after first use - till then it was well and truly locked in place and I found no clear reference to that in the guide. The second would be that the portion control arrow is a little unclear re which end is the pointer - unless you look carefully.. It could do with a steel spot/arrow head on the relevant end

The best grinder yet!
This was a Christmas present and, as a coffee lover, it is the best and I have tried a few! It grinds perfectly for whichever drink you want - espresso, cafetierce or percolator. Very, very efficient.

It just works
Purchased this coffee grinder after reading many reviews. It works perfectly and grinds fine enough for espresso. The container doesn't have a static issue where the coffee sticks to the side as mentioned in other reviews. The automatic dosing selector works well stopping the grinder when the desired quantity of beans have been ground.
It looks good as well.

Its overall form is compact and “muscular” in its appearance. I’m in two minds about the silver front; I’m not sure whether it’s metal or chromed plastic, but some may find it a little gaudy and I’m concerned about how it will look if and when it gets scratched. However, it is an attractive design and looks good on display in the kitchen. The bean hopper aperture is large which, compared to some other grinders, makes filling it easier without risk of spillage. The flow of beans into the grinder mechanism is smooth and untroubled.
The coarsest setting produces a grind commensurate with what you find in bags of pre-ground coffee; the finest setting strikes me as being very fine indeed without reducing it to powder.
It is quite loud when grinding, but slightly quieter than the previous model. Static still causes some of the grind to adhere to the container. Dualit is obviously aware of this and, in the instructions, recommend that you tap the container before pouring out the grind; this does work. They’ve solved the slight problem that the old model had where the container would work its way out a little as the machine was grinding; this no longer happens.
In the previous model the on/off switch and quantity setting were combined. These are now separated. There is a dial on the right for quantity and an over-sized on/off button on the front fascia. For the weight of the machine the on/off switch is a little too stiff, which results in the grinder moving slightly as you press the switch. This is not an insurmountable problem and I usually press the switch whilst holding the grinder down with a couple of fingers of the same hand. I would suggest following the instructions on cleaning the innards of the machine as, over time, there is an inevitable build-up of residual ground coffee.
I’m very pleased with this purchase and would strongly recommend it.

Its a grind!
And it works well. Once again click and collected (I do like that concept) I also has their Espressivo so I rather thought the two might somehow work together. I always seem to get in a mess spooning and tamping the grounds into the filter holder from my caddy (its a man thing perhaps?) so I hoped it would have a facility to pop the filter holder under the grinder somehow and grind the exact amount of grounds directly into it. Sadly there is no such thing and Dualit didn't seem to thing it would be worth making one when I asked them. (go on do it just for me)
Despite this the taste (and smell) of freshly ground coffee its easy to use, if a bit messy transferring it to the brewer makes it all worthwhile
I'm glad I bought it. The gizmo I described as a 'would like' would have earned it 5 stars
I must remember to pop the opened packet of beans in the fridge though!
