Baby Jogger City Mini 3 Wheeler, Stone 4.8 5 4 4
City Must! I have had this buggy from birth and for a year now and overall very pleased with it. When my son was a newborn I used it with the carrycot sold separately until he was 3 months old. After that it was a bit too tight (carrycot quite narrow compared to say the bugaboo) but not really a problem as baby didn't want to lie down anymore. I had hesitated for a long time with the uppababy which looked more comfortable for the baby but it was so bulky! I must say that if you live in a city with limited space like in Europe that is really the best option. Actually I went to New York on holiday and it was by far the most popular buggy there, so I guess it is even ideal for American cities! Pros: + Lightweight and compact, hard to beat + Very easy to steer with one hand, even holding an umbrella or speaking on the phone or carrying other things + Foldable with one hand and in one piece, which is great when travelling in airports + Excellent value for money compared to other brands + Fits in a MiniCooper boot (tested) by simply removing the wheels + Easy to get on and off London buses + Huge sun canopy, has three positions and pretty much goes all the way down, great for summer, windy days and also when napping + 2 peekaboo windows so can check on baby regardless of the canopy position + Decent size basket + Neutral yet stain-resistant colour + Nice add-ons at reasonable price (carrycot, footmuff, snack tray..) + Looks like I will still be able to use it for a couple of years as older children seem comfortable in it too Cons: - The seat doesn't go in a complete upright position, that is for me the biggest disadvantage, especially when little one is fully awake and tries to lift himself up by pulling on the bar - Baby cannot face you, only faces forward (but they are usually happy to face the world as they already see you all day long!) - Handle cover tears easily and doesn't seem to be replaceable (happened on mine after a year of usage and I see it on many others) 14 November 2013
Love love love this pushchair I've been using the Babyjogger for 5 months now and I'm so glad the assistant at JL Solihull showed it to us (thanks Romanna). It's so lightweight and manoeuvrable. I can close it with one hand and carry it and my baby at the same time. The sunshade has three positions which is brilliant and means that I can get away without putting a separate cover on in a light shower, and I've never had to fumble with umbrellas or muslins to protect my son from the sun. It even has a couple of handy windows so that I can peer over and check him. I also have the car seat adaptors so that if he's asleep I can just put the Maxi Cosi car seat onto the buggy and not disturb him. This was great when he was little as it meant he was high up and facing me, but now that he's a few months old he loves sitting in the pushchair and looking out. I did worry that it was a purely front facing pushchair but this has never been an issue. The only negative for me is the size of the basket, but really that's just nit-picking - if it was bigger the buggy would be bulkier. A few of my friends have said that they wished they had seen the Babyjogger before purchasing their pushchairs / travel systems. 15 October 2012
Brilliant Lightweight and one pull on the handle folds buggy in half. Ideal if you have stairs to climb 27 July 2012
Overall an excellent buggy, one tiny design flaw We bought this buggy when our old bugaboo gave up the ghost. I had heard great things about it and it has been a great purchase. The folding mechanism is second to none, we always get comments from people when they see how quickly and easily it collapses! The pram is lightweight, manoeuverable and very easy to clean. The basket underneath is roomy and easy to access. There is also another pocket on the back of the seat which is very handy. My daughter is 2 and big for her age, she sleeps very comfortably in the buggy when necessary and the hood comes down nice and low. The only downside is that the handle cover tears very easily. We have had to exchange our buggy as the rubber handle cover ripped off in 2 places within 2 months of buying the pram. I would recommend buying a zip on handle cover (easily available on ebay) to prevent this happening as otherwise it's a fantastic design. 12 March 2012
