Q & As

Sleepyhead Deluxe Bed Guard, White 4.8 5 74 74
Worth every penny Our little one would not sleep anywhere but on his mother, and that was only for a couple of hours maximum. The Sleepyhead allowed us to regain our evenings and made all concerned happier. The cushioned sides prevent wriggly babies from waking themselves up. 05 December 2014
Worth every penny! I was recommended the sleepyhead from some mums at my bumps and babies group when I was pregnant. I was put off by the expense so I waited to see what happened when my baby was born... Well after 5 nights of 2 hours of sleep, and my daughter not settling in her Moses basket I begrudgingly went to JL in desperation. It was well worth the money. She sleeps so much better- as do we. She would much rather sleep on us, as do most newborns, however she is much more settled in her sleepyhead than she ever was in her Moses basket. I have not forked out for extra sheets for the sleepyhead, I lay a blanket down to cover it. I would recommend using something to cover it, if you choose not to invest in extra sleepyhead sheets, as it is a faff to remove the cover and wait for it to dry if you only have the one. 12 November 2014
Lovely item, expensive & not very baby friendly! Ordered this to make daughter feel more snug as she was a baby that loved to be held, it is fab for making her snug, however I doubt it will last her until she is 8months & she is an average size baby and at 5 weeks old she is already looking more 'snug' in it. The cover is a heavy quality fabric, which is machine washable, washes lovely however it isn't able to be tumbled dried, which given it is for a baby is a major drawback, baby's vomit & nappies leak which means the cover needs removing & can take an age to dry. On this note it is also important to note the cover actually acts as the most important part as it holds the mattress & outside roll together, without the cover the whole thing does not stay together, therefore an additional cover is required & keep your fingers crossed that your baby is only sick once & waits until the 1st cover dries, which may take a while given the thick material. Also the cover isn't the easiest to put on & you may be disappointed to discover that inside the cover are 2 very basic padded parts, 1 the mattress & 1 the roll & the cover holds them together, I was expecting a pretty custom made hi tech mattress for the price, obviously the money is invested on the thick (unable to tumble dry) cover! Overall I really like the product, (although my review is mostly negative) it's expensive for what it actually is & could be improved by making it more baby friendly. 14 October 2014
Our best baby purchase An amazing product, baby always seems happy and comfortable in it. It is really handy as he can be settled downstairs and lifted upstairs into his crib without disturbing. Many friends have now bought one on our recommendation. 16 September 2014
Worth every penny I came across the sleepyhead on this website and after reading the reviews I just knew it was a better option than a Moses basket. Our son has slept in his since day one, and from birth he has slept well. Even after night feeds he would just go straight back to sleep and never wanted to stay awake. It might be we were just lucky but I can't help thinking the sleepyhead helped. My friend had a child a few weeks after me and had a Moses basket.......after 4 weeks of no sleep she bought the sleepyhead and it really transformed things for her. I didn't buy extra covers, instead a put a cot fitted sheet around it, which can be easily removed and washed. My son is a big boy and it won't last until 8 months...... The grand version is already purchased. People mention that it's expensive, but the price of a decent Moses basket, bedding and stand is about the same and far less portable than this. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend 23 August 2014
Worth every penny if this continues 4 month sleep regression, desperate parents - seemingly solved by this wonderful product. Our daughter was always a good sleeper, until she learned to roll over in the last month, this caused many sleepless nights, where she would only sleep when next to me on our bed, being the watch for her all night ended up with me not sleeping well for weeks. I was very nervous about spending so much on something when many reviews say they are outgrown before 8mth. I can confirm my daughter is 4.5mth, 25th centile, 6kilo, and fits well in the pod, the end needs to be open for her feet and the sides fit perfectly, she loves it in there. It operates by keeping her on her back to sleep (rolling over into a face plant was waking her up 10s of times a night) and snuggled in so I guess she feels like she is between us. It seems to keep her much warmer (the cooler nights were also proving problematic in her big empty cot) this combined with grobag is perfect. The pod is beautifully made, you can feel and see the quality of the materials. I would never buy a cheap alternative when this is something that goes into my baby's cot. The expense is caused I assume by the the research, testing and production of the materials that make this a safe option. I also needed a travel cot as we are off on holiday this weekend, and this will be ideal to just pop into any cot offered by the accommodation so that she is in her own safe little pod rather than on a used mattress. Now the best bit. She slept! Oh she slept! And so I slept, and today is beautiful! Only a sleep deprived parent can appreciate that cry of joy! She even slept in past when I got up - and I got to use the baby monitor for the first time ever (she's never slept without me there before) we might even start to win with daytime naps! If this continues, this will be the best thing we've bought, and I will be buying the Grand when she outgrows this (I believe it has a fair few months to go yet) I will check back in in future 21 August 2014
Great buy! This has been a fantastic purchase for our new baby. He loves the cocoon feeling and can settle anywhere. It fits in his crib for sleeping at night and in the day he can nap on the bed next to me while I chill out. Worth the money definitely. Tip for cleaning, don't put cover in tumble dryer. 29 July 2014
Best baby purchase We didn't discover the Sleeepyhead until our son was nearly 4 months old - I wish that we'd bought it earlier! As other reviewer have also said, it's transformed his night time sleeping. He would often fidget and wake himself up, not in the sleepyhead. He rolls over and has the comfort of it (without being restricting) and falls straight back to sleep. The first night we tried it he slept for 6 hours straight! Up to that point he would normally only manage 2 hours maximum. We've been using the sleepyhead for roughly 7 weeks now. I think that it's helped our son to learn to fall back to sleep in the safety of a familiar environment rather than the big expanse of his cot. Yes it's expensive but it literally buys you sleep - worth every penny for sleep deprived parents! 19 July 2014
