Product information

Dry your clothes with admirable energy efficiency using the John Lewis JLTDH16 condenser tumble dryer.

Our 'A' rated tumble dryer uses heat pump technology, which works like a refrigerator in reverse, to achieve this unprecedented energy efficiency. So you get all the benefits of tumble drying at a much lower running cost.

A handy digital display keeps you informed while drying, while 14 programmes include functions for a refresh cycle, heavy cottons, easy iron results and wool care for complete drying versatility. The JLTDH16 also incorporates an easy-to-clean fluff filter, filter and tank indicators, and a delay timer function lets you dry clothes when energy tariffs are lower.

Thanks to this machine’s 7kg load capacity, you can handle the drying needs of your entire family with ease when the weather outside is glum. The drum also hosts a reverse-tumble action to reduce creasing by keeping clothes loose as they dry in the stainless steel drum.

The drying action in this tumble dryer is controlled using electronic sensors, which continually monitor the dampness of laundry to make sure clothes are perfectly dried. It requires no venting so does not need to be plumbed in. With delay timer and 30 and 60 minute timed program.

Please note: This dryer uses a refrigerant that is condensed by a compressor. John Lewis recommends against situating this appliance in a garage, shed, lean-to or outbuilding, as the lower ambient temperature could affect operating performance and invalidate the warranty.

Carrying the John Lewis name, our range of machines are economical, well built and well designed. They are developed with the latest engineering and electronic systems and, to preserve your confidence in the value, quality and reliability of our appliances, each comes with a free 3 year guarantee.

Possibly the worst purchase I have ever made Bought this to replace my old Miele machine that gave up after 14 years. Why did I do it - well, it was cheaper but should have paid up for a new Miele!! Thought the 7kg load would dry my 'superking' duvet cover but all it does is roll it up into a tangled ball and even after several "re-arrangements" during the predicted 2.5 hours for Cottons - Extra Dry programme I still have to resort to hanging it over the bath to dry - useless!!! I can only assume that the reverse action isn't effective. The sensor doesn't seem to work on any programme, some things are dry but others still very damp so why does it stop! NEVER AGAIN - what a waste of money!! 01 April 2014
The best thing since sliced bread! Having purchased a John Lewis washing machine a little while back and being delighted with it, we decided to purchase a John Lewis condenser tumble dryer when our old one finally gave up. We couldn't be more pleased with the product: it is quiet, efficient and using the quick dry facility saves time as well as money! An excellent product that we are most happy to recommend. 27 March 2014
Good value for a heat pump dryer We've been very pleased with this dryer so far. It's well priced for a heat pump model and uses around half the electricity of a standard condenser model. The automatic sensor drying works well as long as you don't mix too many different fabric types or weights, but there's also a conventional timed drying mode. I particularly like the clear electronic display and also the interior light. Filters are easy to clean and the dryer is fairly quiet while in operation (although the heat pump compressor makes it sound a bit like an air conditioning unit). Generally very impressive, especially as it's considerably cheaper than the AEG models it appears to be based on and has a 3 year warranty. 01 March 2014
An excellent product. Having spent an inordinate amount of time comparing the dryers on the market, I am so glad I chose this one.It really does 'what it says on the tin'! I can't fault it. Excellent results, no hassle and such good value for money compared with similar models. Delivery was on time and the delivery men were considerate, friendly, helpful and efficient. 25 February 2014
Very Good Dryer Bought this about a year ago and really impressed, it gets hammered everyday as we do washing every day because of work and sports! I have noticed that it does produce a LOT of moisture but i just leave the window open so it is all good! Lately i have noticed that their is a bubbling sound and that it is a lot quieter than normal and it sounds like something inside it is going to die. I have contacted John Lewis and they were very good and are currently helping me get it fixed! (Everything breaks so you can't hold that against the dryer) This is a wonderful product and it IS very energy efficient! Mark 21 February 2014
So Far, So Good We have had this model for a few weeks and it has been in constant use. So far, we have had no problems at all with it. The condenser works very well indeed with no condensation in the kitchen at all. It also gives a little heat which actually helps in a relatively cold kitchen. It is a little noisy but not annoyingly so and it is very easy to maintain, both in terms of water and the air filter. We will see what happens to our electricity bill, but our overall impression to date is that it is well built, easy to look after & dries the clothes to our liking. So far, so good! 20 November 2013
Out with the old in comes new Dryer quiet instruction print very small works well 05 November 2013
Almost useless Amusing that this 'dryer' has settings labelled Iron Dry, Cupboard Dry, etc. More accurate labels would be Wet, Soaking Wet and Dripping On The Floor. The best you can hope for is Damp, when you set it to the supposedly Extra Dry cycle! After a couple of months, have given up and resorted to using the manual timed cycle only. #And yes, I made sure I followed the instructions/trouble-shooting, though these were unhelpfully translated into sometimes nonsensical English!# It also makes my utility room warm and damp, just as much as my old machine did #a ventilated model but with no outdoor vent available#. Chosen for energy efficiency and JL ethos, but extremely disappointing. Really wish I'd saved the money and gone for one without a 'sensor'. Perhaps it has a 'sensory impairment' ;) 01 September 2013
