Bugaboo Cameleon3 Pushchair Base Unit and Carrycot, Aluminum/Black

Product information

The 3rd generation of the Cameleon all-in-one pushchair is even more versatile, stylish and functional. Light and compact, it’s easy to store and carry and will seamlessly adapt to your journey. Suitable from birth, it will take you and your baby through the city, woods, sand or snow; in fact, anywhere you want to go.

What's New:

  • The refreshed design includes a more durable chassis with a cleaner and sturdier design.
  • It’s also easier to unfold; simply lift the handlebar with one hand and the chassis is ready to go.
  • All of the wheels are now simple to remove and the flat fold carrycot, with one-hand release, will make storage even easier.
  • You’ll also find a padded height-adjustable harness, 6-step height adjustable handlebar and maximised underseat bag that can be closed to keep all your essentials safe.
  • The height-adjustable handlebar provides easy one-handed steering and a comfortable ride regardless of your height

Made with the premium materials you expect from Bugaboo, the modular system allows you to adjust your pushchair to your particular needs. Choose your own colours, convert the seat to a carrycot with an aerated mattress and adjust the handlebar to suit you. This unique 3-in-1 design adapts to car seats, reversible carrycot and reversible seat.

Its premium materials and endless accessory combinations will ensure your child stays comfortable in all weather conditions: spring showers, hot summer days, breezy autumn afternoons and cold wintry mornings.

The rotating carry handle allows for easy and quick access to your child and the click and go buttons allows you to adjust the seat position, set the brake and the handle height in one simple step. The 3-position reclinable seat adjusts to suit the mood of your little one. Sit up straight when awake, recline when relaxed, or lie flat when asleep.

There are three wheel set-ups to choose from. Put the small wheels in front to navigate tight city street, enabling easy one-handed 360° turns, smooth turning and a steady, stable and comfortable ride. Then flip the larger wheels to the front for rough terrain or convert into a two-wheeler for sand and snow. The wheels also benefit from adjustable suspension with optimal adjustable swivel wheel suspension in 4 positions for a smooth ride based on infant or toddler weight.

Light and compact for easy lifting and storage, the compact modular folding mechanism collapses the pushchair easily into two lightweight pieces. It can then easily be unfolded with a one hand lift.

How to buy a fully functional Bugaboo Cameleon³:

Step 1 - The base unit.
Select the base unit, it's available in 4 colours. You'll find the options in the drop down menu above; simply make your choice and add it to your basket.

Step 2 - The tailored fabric.
For a fully functional Bugaboo you must also purchase a tailored fabric, available separately in various different colours. These can also be selected from the drop-down menus (top right).

And that’s it!
Mix and match the colourful combinations to create a Cameleon that's unique to you, ensuring you have purchased 1 base + 1 tailored fabric. (Both components make a complete Bugaboo Cameleon³ as seen in our catalogues).

Editors Notes

In 1994 two men had an idea that revolutionised an industry and created one of the most sought after pushchair brands. In 1999 the first Bugaboo Classic appeared on the streets of Holland and since then they launched the Bugaboo Cameleon in 2005, the more compact Bee in 2007 and then the versatile Donkey in 2012.

Q & As

Rated 5 out of 5 by 11 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by nice looking, sturdy piece haven't used it yet but it looks great and feels sturdy/well made 05 May 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by The best buggy! Is my favourite buggy. High quality and comfortable for baby/child. Recommend product! 06 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great pram I have only used it as a pram so cannot comment on the pushchair. The carrycot is long enough for my very tall baby. She is now 6 months and I am tempted to use it for as long as it is safe because she falls asleep quickly in it. It is very sturdy. The small negatives: - You have to get in most single-deck buses through the middle door because of the two big wheels. I live in Greater London. - Make sure you are happy with the width of the carry cot as one might argue that it is a bit narrow. - I don't think the Bugaboo have the correct product to protect your baby from the sun while in the carrycot. I have bought their parasol but it is so impractical that I now make do with a hair clip and my nursing cover. I don't mind because it means I don't have to put my nursing cover in the shopping basket so more space for other things. If you are not bothered by the three negative points above then the Bugaboo might be a safe choice for you. It is a good product that has not disappointed me so far. 17 June 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by worth the money Very impressed that we ordered this pram in store late on the Saturday afternoon and it arrived on Monday morning. Its the pram ive always wanted long before I was expecting as I know friends who have had it and am very impressed. It was easy to assemble and is very sturdy. Also seems very manoeuvrable (done a few tight laps round the living room and kitchen) baby is yet to arrive but I do think this is worth the money. also impressed to learn JL return policy is 90 days meaning I could buy 2 colour canopies due to knot knowing the gender and return 1 comfortably within the time limit without having to worry. 09 May 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by lovely! tried loads befotre going for this one and definitely the best, if only the price was a little bit lower! 25 March 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Bugaboo , baby gift! This is the second Bugaboo (silly name),the first was for our first and second grandchildren, it looks as good now as it did 5 years ago. this purchase is for our 3rd grandchild, ( different parents) they were delighted with it, although the baby is as yet unborn. 26 February 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The best Worth the money - you use it every day, you want your baby to be safe and secure - this is the pram for you. 28 October 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this travel system! After a few weeks of reviewing every buggy and pram available, i finally plumped for a bugaboo cameleon and i'm so glad i did. I live in London and have used this every day and find it really easy to manoeuvre even with only one hand. It turns in really tight spaces yet it is so comfortable for the baby. I used the carrycot/pram part of the travel system for seven months as my baby wasn't sitting up until then. Some of my friends bought other products and had to use the buggy from fairly early on because the pram part was too small for the baby. It is simple to detach from the base and I found it great if we were visiting friends and the baby needed a nap. The baby currently uses the pushchair and we purchased the footmuff which he seems to find incredibly comfortable. If I have any negative comments at all it is that if you reverse the wheels to put the larger ones in front which is useful on rougher terrain or in snow then it is not so easy to steer. However, I don't think you will find a better product on the market. 17 March 2013
