Q & As

Stoves SGH700C Gas Hob, Stainless Steel 2 5 2 2
Worst thing I have bought This is a terribly engineered hob. Here are some key points, having owned it for 5 months: 1) You CANNOT clean the black grill or the gas ring tops. Nothing shifts. You WILL be left with black splodges burnt in. 2) The silver metal finish looks like a skating rink - I have NEVER used any abrasive products and actually resorted to using Windowlene to keep some sort of shine. The food itself (when wiped) causes scratches. 3) The control knobs has now worn to reveal the black plastic underneath (cheap silver spray has worn on 'most used' ring control# 4) When wiping the surface, there are VERY sharp igniters which have cut my fingers on more than one occasion 5) You have to press and hold the igniters to work. Or rather Preeesssssssssss and hooollllllldddddd #it takes ages#. I invested a lot in my new kitchen and I am a very clean worker and like it spotless. This piece of rubbish has ruined it. I'm on to STOVES later and will update. PS - did I say "don't by this?" 28 January 2013
acceptable Its a perfectly good hob, the ignition is a little annoying as you need to hold it down for several seconds 23 November 2011
