dissapointed Clock ceased to function on first one purchased, just inside the warranty period. Replaced, only for the replacement to show signs on water corrosion, just outside the warranty period. Shop staff, whilst sympathetic to my complaint, suggested i complain to ''Swan'' direct. Frankly, i can't be bothered. No doubt, any repair offered will cost me as much the original price paid. Decided to write it off and dump it! I will not purchase another one and i am annoyed that this product continues to be sold. Or perhaps, i am just unlucky.... 10 November 2014
Teasmade life. I have had 3 Swan Teasmades in under 5 years. They have all failed within the warranty period-one actually exploded taking out all the power,and leaving boiling water underneath it ! This will be the last one ever if it does not last outside the warranty period- I cannot understand how such a poor product is on the market. John Lewis have been superb in the help and service they provide-it is for that reason alone that I have persevered with this product 03 November 2014
Swan STM100 Teasmade We have used this model of teasmade for a number of years, and been very pleased with its performance. However recently whenever we tried to use it it caused the electricity supply to trip. When I dismantled the machine I discovered that the kettle component had corroded, and presumably leaked when under heat and pressure, causing the electricity supply to fuse. We have remedied the situation by buying another Swan STM100 Teasmade. 30 September 2014
Disappointing I had read the previous poor reviews but decided to go ahead and purchase the teasmade as a friend had recommended it. Sadly after 2 weeks of use it is leaking and the tray that it was standing on (luckily I had used a tray) was soaking wet on the last couple of mornings. Also the light on the clock is still very bright despite the manufacturers stating it dimmed automatically. I had to cover the clock face as it lit up the corner of our bedroom. I will be returning it for a refund. 23 January 2014
Faulty! The teasmade didn't work properly. The connection between the jug and the switch which it pressed against only worked intermittently. In addition on one occasion the water in the tank heated up but didn't whoosh into the jug. Extremely disappointed! 09 January 2014
Swan Teasmade Use with caution. This is the third one I have owned. the first one lasted 9 years the second lated 2 weeks and the present one so far has been working for 3 weeks but as previous units leaked we are hopeful this one is more reliable 10 December 2013
Leaking product Have also to report that mine is now leaking at 2.5 years of use. Took the first one back after 6 weeks when it stopped working. Not impressed 14 November 2013
Phew! just in time......! I bought this for my mother on 01.12.2011 for her christmas present. She absolutely loves it. Uses it every morning and thinks the digital clock is great because she doesnt have to listen to a ticking clock. She was pretty upset when she noticed that it was leaking water from the tank, a couple of weeks ago. I checked the guarantee and was relieved to find that it was 2 years and we were just within this time by a few weeks. As per some of the other reviews on this item, the tank has corroded. My mum took it back into John Lewis and spoke to an assistant, who said as it was within the 2 year guarantee so they were happy to send her a new one that would arrive within 5 working days. He also informed her that this swan teasmade was only designed to last 2 years. Thats why its priced cheaply. Which I think is appalling! However, the service from john lewis was excellent. I couldnt fault it at all. 05 November 2013
