Product information

This colourful piece by Caulfield is characterised by thick, black outlines used to bring out the full strength of other colours.

Patrick Caulfield began his studies at the Chelsea School of Art in London in 1956, continuing at the Royal College of Art. In the early 1960s, Caulfield's paintings were characterised by flat images of objects paired with angular geometric devices or isolated against uneven areas of colour. Always a meticulous worker, he later turned to a bare aesthetic during the 1980s.
