Tate, Patrick Heron- Scarlet, Lemon Ultremarine Framed Print, 48 x 101cm

Product information

Add a splash of colour to your room with this bold piece, a reproduction of the abstract piece originally by Patrick Heron.
A painter, textile designer and writer on art, Patrick Heron was born in Leeds in 1920. Studying at the Slade School from 1937 to 1939, his painting was interrupted by the war. However, in 1945 he settled in London and began to paint again. He held his first one-man exhibition in London at the Redfern Gallery in 1947 and in New York at the Bertha Schaefer Gallery in 1960.
He eventually turned his focus to abstract art, under the influence of American abstract painting in 1956 and in the same year, moved to Zennor, in Cornwall. He was awarded First Prize in the John Moores Liverpool Exhibition in 1959 and he is author of The Changing Forms of Art 1955, Ivon Hitchens 1955 and Braque 1956.
