Tefal RK302E15 8-in-1 Multi-Cooker
Great bit of kit
This is our seconf Tefal multi-cooker. I bought the previous six-in-one (white) model from John Lewis about 8 years ago and it has been a faithful and releiable servant and is still working but I thought I'd treat us to the latest mdoel.
We occasionally use it for other settings but our main usage is as a slow cooker and it has perfomed excellently. We always do our meat in this cooker and mix up some gravy, just enough to cover the meat and let it slow cook for 8 hours. We've cooked all meats in this way, chicken, gammon, beef, pork and lamb and the turnkey at Christmas and the results are constently great. The meat is alway beautifuly cooked, teneder and just falls apart. We've also cooked other dishes such as curry, chili con carne, bolgnaise and hotpots and the food is always beautifuly cooked and tasty, never dry or tough-eating.
The new model has an increased capacity compared to our previous model which is handy and the Tefal multi-cookers are easy to clean and maintain. One small point I'd have preferrred a hard-wired mains lead over the plugin type but as fitrted on the older model but I guess that's just a matter of personal preference. Another reason why I chose this and the previous model was that it has a closable hinged lid and not a glass lid resting on the top, a safetly consideration when you have either/or small children and pets around the house.
I have absolutely no difficulty recommending this product to anyone looking for a good relaible slow cooker/multicooker. It is well made and cooks beautifuly.

Easy to use multi-cooker
I am still figuring out my way round cooking in the multi-cooker, but thus far I could see this makes my kitchen life much easier. Mainly meant for rice cooking, the programs can be adapted to various recipes. At the moment I mostly use this cooker for soups, but intend to use it more for stews/ragu type of dishes in the future. I also have a new addition to the family and steaming function will come handy once the wee one starts eating her baby food.

Responsible for making me make "proper porridge"
Love it. When my old rice cooker died I needed to buy another. Did lots of research before settling for this one. A bit dubious at first on spending a lot of money on what I essentially wanted "just to make rice", but after the other good reviews on all the other stuff this one can do decided to splash out. Definitely worth it - not only does it make all my rice dishes perfectly, but I also regularly make our weekend porridge in it. Takes 20 minutes but so much better than the instant porridge in the little bags, and it's nice to just put it on then relax and do other things safe in the knowledge breakfast is being prepared . . .

SO MUCH MORE THAN JUST FOR RICE
Purchased this Tefal 8-in-1 over a month ago but did not want to leave feedback until I had a chance to give it a good try. I almost did not purchase this on reading feedback others had left, and wanted to be as helpful as a i could to other purchasers.
I was after a replacement for my well used slow cooker. The main thing I was looking for was a good slow cooker with a timer, this would cover both and much more.
My first job for my new Tefal was Rice, well it had had to be done. It cooked the rice just perfect. Then I tried the rice pudding in the recipe booklet, which I have cooked twice and found that not stirring the rice was best and it came out much nicer and as we liked it. Of course with all things you have to adjust to taste, and not give up if the first result is not right for you, the recipe is only a standard guide.
Then Something I have never done, I baked the chocolate cake to the recipe and I was amazed it was perfect and enjoyed by my husband. I will be repeating cakes, as it was so easy with great results.
Onward to what I wanted most, slow cooking. I used my own recipe and made a Spanish Chicken casserole, it came out perfect. You may need to adjust timing if you like your vegetables softer.
One person left feedback that said that slow cooking left a smell on the seal. This is so but it does not contaminate say a rice pudding. So don't be to worried about this. I can not say I am bothered about this.
I have started doing porridge on timer so we wake up to a nice breakfast. It did stick a bit on the first go but I have got this covered by not letting the timer run to the end.
Over all I am very pleased with this item and I am looking forward to trying more casseroles and puds.
Take your time and adjust timings to your taste and you will enjoy everything this Tefal has to offer.

Great. Brilliant rice...
I have used this machine for slow cooking and rice, and it did a very good job of both. I've tried a couple of beef stews, a green Thai curry, and pork in apple and cider. Although not as good as cooking in the oven they were ready on arrival from work and tasty. The rice cooker is brilliant. Perfect rice.

worth every penny
I bought this slow cooker a couple of months ago and wanted to try it out first before posting a review.
It has surpassed all my expectations and I use it several times a week for various meals. I have made lots of different dishes and it cooks rice to perfection. The steam function is brilliant too, saves having to have a separate appliance. I have recently perfected the rice pudding recipe that comes with the cooker....
Overall, it's very straight forward to use, easy to clean and unlike another poster, i have not had any issues with the appliance retaining a food smell - you just need to wipe the plastic parts clean and leave the lid open after cooking strong smelling food.
