Tefal Secure 5 Pressure Cooker
Very Easy to Use
I have had a Prestige Pressure cooker for years with the Weights separately, so this is a big improvement and excellent value at £45 as it is stainless steel. My only disappointment is that there is very little information on cooking foods. ie I need to cook diced shin beef but can only find information of full joint @ 40 mins and this cannot be the same for diced meat. I expected there would be some kind of example recipes with timings etc
will search for info on the internet !!!

Love this pressure cooker. Very easy to use . This one is really quite basic, which I like about it. less to go wrong or break. Great for soups, curry's, stews. good size and fantastic value.

Everything sticks to bottom and burns
I've only used this cooker twice to make soup. When browning onions in the pot everything sticks to the bottom and burns. It's almost impossible to clean afterwards. I will be looking for a better pressure cooker!

Happy with it!
This is my first pressure cooker and it couldn't be simpler! So easy and straightforward to use. I have now used it twice to make beef curry and it has cut down my curry making time by two-third. The safety features give you peace of mind and the pressure cooker gives you soft meat, every time. I would highly recommend it.

Tefal Secure 5 pressure cooker
This product does the job, HOWEVER it is marketed as a 6 ltr. pressure cooker but is really only 6 ltrs when filled to the brim, it can only be filled to about to about 4 ltrs. for actual pressure cooking. A recipe book would have been useful as the cooking pressure appears lower than our old Prestige. It is nice and shiny! I would have preferred the larger capacity. We chose this model over competitors because we wanted 6ltrs. wrong there.

Brilliant for the price
Have used the old style pressure cookers with reservation, as an ex chef I love most gadgets. Tried this out half a dozen times cant fault it would be nice if you got a nice recipe book with it. Would buy from John Lewis any time

Safety, Speed and Good Cornering....
Easier to handle and more lightweight than my first-ever Tefal pressure-cooker [in the 1970s!] The safety features make this the most confidence-encouraging of all the brands of pressure-cooker I have ever used [I come from a family of Home Economists] I do just wonder whether the materials for the valves are as durable as those of previous decades; in compensation, I guess that lid-rings will be easier to replace, when that becomes necessary. The configuration of the lid makes the whole device easier to slide into a cupboard; the food basket is, again, easier to handle than any other style owned in the past. I miss the sense of 'solid weight' but the compensation is that it's certainly easier to lift. Once I can interpret its noises and steam-emissions I might be ready to upgrade score from Good to Excellent....
