Carbon footprinting.
It's called a Totnes chair (transition town in Devon) and the description highlights it's "eco" build, but.... I rang the factory in Lancashire who told me it is made not in the UK, but by Tetrad International and is shipped in from Thailand....one star for not building it locally.

Beautiful chairs
We tried these in store several times over the last year. None of the other armchairs felt as comfy and met our criteria (high back, arms, tactile, squishy seat)).
The colour of the leather is absolutely beautiful, really rich. They are already very comfortable to sit in, and I can tell this will only improve as the seat 'gives'. The ones in the store were obviously going to be much more worn in, so we didn't expect ours to feel the same straight away.
These chairs are beautifully made, and you can't help stroking them on your way past!
In conclusion, they are pricy but are an investment piece I think. They look fab now, but will age beautifully and I know they will become firm favoriites in our house.

Comfortable and realxing chair
This is a really comfortable and relaxing chair. The filler cushion further improves it. Good for relaxing or reading, If i'd had more room I would have purchased two of these chairs..

Looks beautiful but...
I love this chair and saved up for ages to buy it and although it looks great it is not comfortable at all. The chair cushion is constantly slipping off and every time someone sits on it you have to push it back into position afterwards which is such a pain.
The back of the chair is hard and it is definitely not a chair to relax in. I did try it many times in the shop but the chair I have does not feel as comfortable. Each chair is hand made and really good quality, I think it will last for ever but because it is so uncomfortable it is not worth the money!
The original cushion was swapped with the one in the shop as it was slipping off so much - that was after the furniture doctor had been out and removed some of the stuffing.
It will probably end up being a beautiful occasional chair when I can afford to buy a more comfortable one to replace it!

Lovely chair for taller people
I'd been after this chair for a number of months after road testing on numerous occasions in different JL branches. Eventually I managed to pull together the funds to go for it and buy it. I tried to find it cheaper on the internet but to no avail.
When it arrived I was so existed, as it had been such a long wait since seeing it for the first time. I wasn't disappointed, as it's a lovely piece of furniture that looks stunning in my lounge.
Comfort wise it needs breaking in a bit first, as the main seat cushion is quite hard initially but eventually starts to bed in and become softer the more you use it. The main seat cushion is quite long, so if you’re not particularly tall I recommend a foot stool, otherwise you'll struggle with it. I'm 6ft and it suits my leg length, just.
Due to the length of the seat, and it being made of leather and quite slippy on your bum, you really have to sit right back in the chair to ensure your body and back are fully supported. Therefore as mentioned, if you’re short it will cause you problems. Another thing is that the lumber support cushion isn't particularly solid enough to support your back. The main seat cushion on my chair is now broken in enough (purchased in April 2011) to feel comfortable, but I do need to bash it back into shape every so often to ensure it is pushed right back into the seat. This isn’t a real issue, but I’m hoping it doesn’t start to get too soft and flat – time will tell on that one!
The Pros:
The chair looks absolutely stunning!
It’s really comfortable if you are the right size for the chair or use a footstool
It’s well built and solid
The Cons:
The price I feel is too high
The lumber cushion needs to be more solid
The chair is designed for taller people only really
Overall I’m really pleased with my purchase, but I would suggest that you road test it a few times in a JL branch before you buy, to ensure it suits your frame.
