The Essential Parent Company was created by Diana Hill, an award-winning BBC science documentary film-maker, and Dr Rebecca Chicot, a Cambridge PhD in child development and parenting. After working together on BBC science documentaries and having children they saw a need for visually based baby care guides and realised they were the right people to make them.

This range of DVDs is the UK's first comprehensive set of baby, toddler and childcare DVDs. Brilliant! My husband and I are not very good readers and so we thought we would try this product as it was something we could do together and thought it would be better to SEE things rather than just read. We were not disappointed- it is very informative and put together in a really good way which is neither cheesy nor patronising! I would recommend this product to anyone who is to become a parent as it covers all the basics and has given us real peace of mind and gives us somewhere to turn when baby is here. The Essential Parent Company DVDs Highly Recommended to any new parent. I wish you had produced this 3 years ago !!!!! Invaluable advice, very professional and beautifully shot. I bought some books when I was pregnant but they were a waste of money as until you actually have the baby in your hands (not feeding in the way they are meant to) you need to SEE how to do it. Thankyou. It will be a huge help with my second child and I am buying it as a gift for all my pregnant friends - none of which have their Mums nearby or can afford a maternity nurse to show them what on earth to do. Its such an isolating experience having a small baby at home in the first week with no clue or experience how to hold them when you are bathing them / how to get into a routine so that they sleep etc that your DVD's will be a revelation to all new (and not so new) Mums. Great for Dads too! Received The Essential Baby Care Guide as a present as my wife and I are having a baby next month. We've really enjoyed sitting down together watching it. It's really easy to watch and covers everything we were worrying about. I already feel less worried about being a dad and my wife feels very confident that she will have a good idea about how to breastfeed and soothe our baby when he cries. 13 May 2012
