The Family Seat Toilet Seat, White 3 5 9 9
Not for us. We are first time potty trainers, with a boy child. This product is useless for us because his wee comes out between the child seat and adult seat. He does not have the skill yet to direct his flow. We have now bought a plastic seat that just sits on top of the normal seat, with a large lip that stops the wee from spraying out. 24 September 2012
Poor design Lovely quality but flawed design. Too heavy for little ones to open and close safely. When the whole toilet seat is lifted up it is a dangerous balancing act to make it stay! And finally, it is too easy for children to 'aim' incorrectly and for everything to leak between the small seat and the big seat. 27 August 2012
Not good The way this fixes to the toilet is really poor, not the conventional fixing for toilet seats and over use it works loose so constantly needed to be re-tightened. After trying for a couple of weeks it has had to go.......shame as a good concept but poorly executed. 11 August 2012
My son loves this seat this really helped our 3yesr old son to go from potty to toilet really fast. 07 August 2011
very nice I love this family toilet seat. This is the second one I've bought after a workman damaged the first one. I would recommend this. 14 July 2011
Useful but not ideal The quality of this seat is very good as you would expect from John Lewis. It is disappointing in that it is not soft or slow close and it is extra heavy with the small seat in the lid. The release catch does not move very easily meaning that the small seat can be difficult to access or put back safely especially for little ones. I am not sure I would buy it again. 06 July 2011
So useful and much used This is the only seat of its kind we found out there, and it has really helped my two children get used to the idea of using the "big loo". Other seats that are put on top of the existing seats, or underneath it, seem to be rather perilous and a bit wobbly but this, because it is part of the regular seat in very stable and gives the children the confidence to use the loo on their own. One thing is that the catch to fix it to the lid is too fiddly for little fingers, so we leave it down - meaning the loo seat is always on the "child's" setting unless we change it for adults. All in all, quite expensive but well worth the money if you have more than one child. 06 July 2011
Does the job! This was quite easy to put on and i am pleased with it. It looks much cleaner than our old wooden one and makes the bathroom look brighter. My toddler likes the idea of it and has sat on it a few times but does not use it regularly yet. The catch is a little stiff, certainly too stiff for him to turn but maybe that is not a bad thing. My husband did think it looked a little like an institutional toilet at first but we have got used to it. 06 July 2011
