Product information

This decorative cushion celebrates the iconic thistle, long revered as a Celtic symbol of nobility. Its oversized line-drawn image is incredibly striking and - as is to be expected of the designers - has a slightly dark and prickly edge.

With an approach that is experimental and even surreal, design duo Alistair McAuley and Paul Simmons met at Glasgow School of Art and later formed Timorous Beasties. The aesthetic clashes naturalistic images with a contemporary graphic style and unflinching commentary on the social and political times.
