Product information

Whether you're driving familiar roads or venturing somewhere new, the TomTom Start 25 M will give you peace of mind. It’s packed full of the latest technology but still incredibly easy to use. See high quality maps on its larger screen, and trust it to guide you safely through complex junctions for a confident drive.

Key benefits:

  • A large 5-inch extra-wide touch screen display will help you see your route clearly ahead of you and its intuitive touch screen operation makes changing settings safe and simple.
  • Advanced lane guidance will clearly show you which lane to take at junctions so you don’t miss your turning. On difficult motorway intersections, a realistic 3D representation of the junction will keep you relaxed and safe.
  • Spoken street names means you can keep your eyes on the road, making turnings easier and safer
  • Simply plug in your TomTom to your cigarette lighter and you’re off. It’s really that simple.
  • The QuickGPSfix feature speeds up the time it takes for your device to fix a GPS signal, allowing you to drive off sooner
  • Your device can show you the route which has a lower environmental impact as well most fuel efficient. Driving with more fuel-efficient routes will save you money as well as reducing your impact on the environment.
  • Avoid getting caught by speed cameras too thanks to an alert telling you when you approach speed cameras, fixed speed cameras and average speed checks.
  • An integrated mounting feature means you don’t need to carry around a chunky mount for your device. A convenient fold away ‘sucker’ fits easily to your windscreen and will also fold out too so you can mount it on your dashboard.

Q & As

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 10 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Tom Tom Start 25 Easy to set up. Like the reminders for updates on the computer. The maps and verbal instructions are very clear. The Tom Tom quickly finds the satellite connection. Overall it is much better than my previous Garmin 16 September 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by best buy on the market having had a GO Tom Tom for 13 years.. It was time to buy new and the Start 25 Europe was perfect. it is a clear screen system with easy to follow instruction and bright maps. Battery life is your average journey although you can charge it while driving. As it's flat it takes up no space so easy to hide or pop in your handbag. All in all a good highly efficient system at a very competitive price. 03 September 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very pleased with my purchase I chose this sat nav to replace another brand I bought years ago. Very pleased with it. The voice is very pleasant and doesn't intimidate me when using it, my previous one was scary. The screen is clear and very easy to follow. Inputting the data was OK once I got the hang of it. Very easy to mount on the windscreen. Would recommend it to a friend 28 August 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great once we got going Really useful - also used it in Spain on holiday - BUT I wish it had come with more instructions. There were absolutely no instructions with it and to someone using this kind of thing for the first time it wasn't helpful. Slightly more tricky to set up than I had anticipated but once we got going it was great. 17 July 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very Poor Bought to replace ageing TomTom 1, but wish I had not bothered. The interface is sluggish and outdated, it takes typically 10 to 15 minutes to acquire satellites when turned on and loses them 3 to 4 times during a journey forcing unscheduled stops to wait for it to catch up. The volume is very low and although it can be adjusted, it always reverts to default when switched off. It took nearly two hours to register on line and updates take about the same amount of time. All in all it's a poor piece of equipment, cheaply made, and not up to the task. My recommendation would be to buy a set of maps or something else, definitely not a TomTom if you want to keep hold of your sanity. 03 July 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very convenient product Used in Sorrento to drive around. I would say this has a very pin point accuracy. We used it to navigate in the mountainous area, still it was showing every path and road correctly. 03 June 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good Product This Tom Tom is simple to use and has a clear screen. The directions are good although in City Centres it can be a bit slow with its instructions. It has been great to use here in the UK but struggled in Spain when we were entering Road names rather than coordinates and at times took us slightly unusual routes to reach our destination. However we think it has been good but bear in mind its limitations. I suspect they are common to a lot of Sat navs. 21 February 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Good points and bad ones Bought to replace an older Garmin SatNav that was becoming unreliable. Like the speed of start up (about 20 seconds compared to over 4 minutes for old one). Easy to set a route and full post codes accepted. Clear display. Sensible routes selected and ETAs usually pretty close to actual. Don't like the sound quality - even at max volume it's not easy to hear with poor quality audio - very tinny and feeble. Not a problem for me as I usually ignore the voice as the on-screen display is usually easier to follow. However, I really don't like the integral attachment. Very awkward to fit and involves rotating the back of the mount to secure which is quite difficult at full stretch. If you have arthritic fingers it's almost impossible to attach and remove from windscreen. Previous device with clip on mount was much much easier. This will probably drive me to the point of selling it on eBay and getting another one with a better mounting device unless I can find a third-party clip that will fit it. If I had appreciated how difficult it was going to be to attach and remove I would have looked at other options before buying. If you have younger nimble fingers this may be less of an issue, however, for me, this is an ergonomic disaster. 14 January 2014
