Q & As

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 22 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Its ok Its ok. The ignition does seem to take forever sometimes. Also how much would it have cost to put a little white mark to show you which temperature the oven etc it set to? The trays and shelves do not slide in and out very easily and the burners seem a little slower than my old cooker. I do find the small oven very useful and I liked the fact that Zanussi seem to be one of the only cookers that had door glass that was covered in at the top of the door, rather than being open to whatever might drip through it. It is strange that this cooker cost the same as my old one 20 years ago, I don't know if this means the quality has gone down or I should have been able to spend thousands on a new one? 25 November 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by As described Pleased with the cooker although the grill tray is very big with no handle. It does double up as a roasting tin but have to continually move when using the top oven. Overall pleased with size of both ovens and position of gas knobs. 24 November 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by SATISFACTORY. GAS JET ON FRONT LEFT DID NOT WORK AT FIRST BUT IS WORKING NOW. SOMETIMES STOVE TAKES A LITTLE TIME TO LIGHT. Also it is difficult to get even the smaller jet to simmer slow enough so things like porridge need constant stirring. But otherwise a good stove, works well and straightforward to clean. 24 November 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great product Great product easy to use and keep clean. The service from john lewis was second to none 24 November 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by ZanussiZCG43200XA, Stainless Steel Gas Cooker When this product was delivered IT WAS NOT AS DISPLAYED on the web. There was NO stainless steel on the front and was ALL a dark brown colour. This was rejected as it would not match the other items in the kitchen. 11 November 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointing! I wish I had never purchased this oven. The rings do not ignite and only work after depressing the buttons for 5 to 10 minutes! The same applies to the grill and is not suitable for anyone with back problems as you have to stoop to see whether it has ignited. The actual oven is quite 'tinny'. Very very disappointing indeed. I will never purchase another Zanussi appliance again. 18 October 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by It works, mostly I have been using gas cookers for over fifty years, but this is the first one I've encountered that is hardly fit for purpose. There are too many "safety features" whose sole purpose seems to be protecting, not the user from harm, but the company from law-suits. For instance, the oven shelves have ridiculously large barriers at the back, severely limiting the shelf positions. Every previous oven offered use of the whole oven with flexibility. There has never been a problem because I simply DON'T push things beyond the back! The grill pan is too large to line with foil (unless most of it is wasted). Who would not want to throw away foil instead of struggling to scrape off burned fat? I suspect it is this large so it is securely held in one of the (again, limiting) positions. Has everyone who has used the easily removeable kind been living on borrowed time? If they were so dangerous, why weren't they corrected years ago? When grilling sausages and beefburgers, we like to close the top oven door to keep the heat in. This grill cuts out if the door is closed. Why can't the grill be like the oven? Aren't they both burning gas in the same open flames? Someone, somewhere decided it might be a hazard, so we all have to suffer the consequences of their over-anxiousness. But the biggest problem is that the oven keeps cutting out. It lights OK, and we check that it is still lit as we close the door. But 5, 10 or 20 minutes later, it just decides to stop working. We know not to leave a chip pan unattended, but now we cannot leave oven chips unattended either! When the rest of the meal is ready, we discover our oven has turned itself off without notice. Surely, they could have provided a beep or something to anounce that the oven has cut out, presumably "for our own safety". Every time this happens is a reminder that our trust in John Lewis has been misplaced, at least for this item. 10 August 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Zanussi ZCG43200XA Gas Cooker I am on the whole pleased with the Zanussi but what I miss most is an eye level grill. For me the main draw back is having to bend down to keep an eye on the food being grilled and the fact that the grill pan is so large, especially if just cooking a couple of sausages or bacon rashers. ( it slots onto the shelf supports at the sides of the top oven) To use the grill the oven shelf has to be taken out as there is not room for both. On the plus side, I like the splash back which folds down as a lid on the burners and I like having 4 different sized burners. I haven't yet done any baking so can't comment on that. It is a good looking cooker which fits my kitchen well. The service from John Lewis was good, as you would expect. Installation was excellent, with a phone call about half an hour before arrival. The technician was courteous and explained the workings of the cooker before he left. 21 July 2015
