THE MARIE CURIE BLOOMING GREAT TEA PARTY
Across our shops this summer we’re having tea with Marie Curie, the UK’s leading charity caring for people with any terminal illness, in support of their Blooming Great Tea Party.
We’ll be hosting special Blooming Great Tea Party events in our shops on 9 June and making a donation of £20,000 to Marie Curie. You’ll be able to meet fundraisers in our Places to Eat, cafes and espresso bars to find out more about hosting your own tea party, and take a selfie alongside the Marie Curie giant teacup.
We’ll be donating via products you can buy too, including Yellow Wallflower, a new range from Emma Bridgewater; we’ll donate 10% of the sale price from items from that range to Marie Curie from 23 - 25 June. Until 25 June we’ll donate 10% from sales of two of our exclusive Paul Thurlby-illustrated mugs.
And where we have one of our shops near to a Marie Curie hospice, we’ll be doing some extra fundraising, plus Partners from our beauty departments will be visiting to provide patients with soothing hand massages .
We’ll also be taking the tea party spirit into schools, through our Bringing Skills to Life programme, helping children to get baking for charity. We’ll be encouraging schools to hold their own tea party on 23 June too.
SO GET READY TO TEA PARTY. WE’RE COUNTING ON YOUR CUPPA.
If you’d like to get together with family and friends or workmates for your own Blooming Great Tea Party, raising money really is a piece of cake. You can find out more and download a fundraising pack here
ABOUT MARIE CURIE
Today one in four people across the UK don’t get the care and support they need at the end of their lives. With our support, Marie Curie can be there for more of the families who need them most.
The things people need aren’t too much to ask. High quality care in the place they want to be, usually their home. Control of symptoms like pain. And clear information from the start.
That’s what Marie Curie’s been giving people for 70 years. The Blooming Great Tea Party will help keep their caring staff and volunteers where they need to be – in people’s homes and at the heart of communities.
